(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Black Lives Matter has branded New York City Mayor Eric Adams “a white man in blackface” after the mayor noted BLM’s obvious hypocrisy when it comes to black-on-black crime.

Hawk Newsome, co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, appeared on Fox News to accuse Adams of “spew[ing] conservative and Republican talking points” in the aftermath of the Frank James subway shooting and subsequent violence in NYC.
“This mayor who’s a Democrat but he spews conservative and Republican talking points,’ Newsome told Fox News. “At the end of the day, we have a name for someone like this, and this is someone we call a c**n.”
“He’s a white man in black face, and a very conservative-minded white man, at that,” Newsome continued. “This city is a war zone and he can’t stop it so with all his power he turns to BLM.”
Mayor Adams’ offense was to point out that BLM leaders never seem to leave their multi-million dollar, donation-funded homes to protest when the shooter is a black man.
“Do an analysis of who was killed or shot last night,” Adams told NY1 in an April 13 interview after more gun violence the previous day. “The victims were black [and] many of the shooters were black.”
“I thought black lives matter?” he continued.
Newsome isn’t wrong, however, that NYC is a war zone, the Daily Mail reported.
Though murders are down about 8% in 2022, rapes are up 17% and felony assaults nearly 20%, according to the Mail.
This isn’t the first time Newsome and Adams have clashed.
After a November meeting with the Mayor-elect, Newsome promised “riots,” “fire,” and “bloodshed” if Adams brought back plainclothes anti-crime cops, according to the New York Post.
In a December address, Adams responded by telling New Yorkers “we’re not going to surrender to those who are saying, ‘We’re going to burn down New York.'”
Adams has also come under fire recently for failing to make his tax returns public, according to a report in Politico.
