(Headline USA) President Joe Biden’s social media team could be costing taxpayers up to $7 million per year, according to an analysis of White House personnel records.
Biden’s White House currently employs more than 70 staffers just to run his social media accounts. Based on salary data obtained by the Washington Examiner, the cost of compensating these employees amounts to roughly $6,695,436, not including other costs.
This is more than 10 times what the average corporation spends on its social media budget, according to Hootsuite.
It is unclear which employees work only on Biden’s social media accounts, since some of those listed included “press,” “communications,” “media,” and “video” employees as well. Former press secretary Jen Psaki, for example, was listed as a member of Biden’s social team. She made $180,000, according to records.
Republicans have pointed out that Biden’s social media presence is still a disaster, even with 70 people supposedly running it. For example, his team failed to tweet about the anniversary of D-Day until late in the evening, after the remembrance day had almost passed:
He has like 70 people who handle his social media and none of them thought to post something about one of the most important days in the history of our country until 8:45 pm https://t.co/RVbU9dkDoW

So last year (2021) you said nothing about D-Day. This year you missed it by hours because it was already the 7th in Normandy. You only tweeted this after @FoxNews reached out to your administration. This is simple stuff & you screwed it up as well. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. https://t.co/YydVZpedul

The revelations about Biden’s social team come amidst reports of internal strife in the White House.
Many staffers are reportedly frustrated that Biden has to rely on scripts and teleprompters and blame his stale presence as the reason his approval ratings are so low.
