(Headline USA) Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., claimed on Tuesday that a Super Bowl ad promoting Christian values actually promoted “fascism.”
The Christian group He Gets Us spent $20 million on two Super Bowl advertisements that featured Jesus as someone with empathy for immigrants and the poor and frustration for polarization in politics.
“Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

It is not clear which ad she was referring to. But one of the ads appeared to take a shot at leftist activists, portraying a man shouting at a police officer in riot gear. The images of unrest were followed by a line on-screen: “Jesus loved the people we hate.”
The other ad showed images of migrants fleeing their homes to avoid persecution. The ad then revealed the story was actually about Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Critics blasted Ocasio-Cortez, pointing out that she has no idea what “fascism” is.
“Don’t you advocate for the disarmament of civilians, the criminalization of speech, and political prosecutions?” asked immigration lawyer Matthew Kolken.
Conservative commentator Buzz Patterson pointed out that no one is looking to her for spiritual advice anyway.

Even leftist journalist Eric Owens pointed out that the message of the advertisements were in line with leftist orthodoxy.
“That’s your take from a great Super Bowl ad reminding us of the truth, universal to all religions and all wisdom, that hate is bad? Are you serious? You have jumped the shark. Presumably, an intern is writing your tweets while you wear a fancy dress to a Super Bowl ball,” he wrote.
Conservative attorney Casey Mattox agreed: “I am perplexed by the idea that these ads are ‘right wing.’ But I’m seeing it from AOC and other Dems today,” he said. “Ads that have been subtly anti-racist, pro immigration, etc. Bizarre takes.”
