(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) New York City officials have started enforcing a law that bans anyone under 21 from buying whipped cream canisters, even as the city embraces open-air drug dens and promises to give special favor to former pot pushers and users who want to open marijuana shops.
The whipped cream crackdown came to light when signs started popping up in grocery stores, like one that read “effective 8/12/22 we will be IDing for whipped cream! Must be 21 years old!” according to NBC New York.
The law, which bans the sale of whipped cream cans to anyone under 21, quietly took effect last year but is only now being aggressively enforced.
The same leftist legislators who encouraged heroin and fentanyl addicts to “be empowered” by “using safely,” banned whipped cream cans because they potentially can be used as “an inhalant” to get high from the nitrous oxide in the canisters, NBC reported.
The move to policing so-called “whippits” was “an important step in combatting a significant problem for many neighborhoods throughout my district,” wrote New York State Senator Joseph Addabbo, from Queens, who sponsored the whip cream legislation.
“The need to limit the access and sale of whippits first became apparent after receiving constituent complaints about empty canisters on neighborhood streets,” Addabbo explained.
“Used whippits piling up in our communities are not only an eye sore, but also indicative of a significant nitrous oxide abuse problem.”
The hypocrisy of the standards used by city officials to determine that whipped cream should be banned while smoking crack could be tolerated was roundly ridiculed as equals parts farcical, disingenuous and dangerous.
NEW YORK, NY
A place where government says:
✅ Crack Pipes = Equity
but
❌ Whipped cream canisters = Danger
These “leaders” are a joke. #FireThem

“Just to be clear, at 12 you can begin transitioning to a different gender, choose pronouns, change your name, pretend to be a cat, get vaxxed without parental consent, purchase plan B, and shoot heroine in a city run safe drug space but you can’t buy whipped cream,” one frustratingly perplexed citizen wrote.
Literally had to produce my driver’s license at the checkout to buy whipped cream. I am 42. pic.twitter.com/0kQDyk9gL3

“NY has gotten completely out of hand,” tweeted another poster. “You can’t buy whipped cream for your pie or jello unless you’re 21.
“Assault or rob someone & you’re back on the street ASAP. Hand out needles but can’t have cream. The leftists politicians in NY have lost their minds.”
