(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Race-hustling leftists seized on the intentional misinterpretation of a remark by Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to wage a petty and retaliatory attack on the top-ranking GOP leader after their recent legislative failures.
With Democrats sinking in the undertow of their own gaffes—including President Joe Biden’s insurrectionist remarks about illegitimate midterm elections—McConnell delivered a fresh excuse to sow racial division, deflect attention from votes-stealing schemes and exact vengeance over their shattered filibuster dreams.
During a Wednesday news conference, just hours before Republicans successfully blocked passage of the controversial John Lewis Voting Rights Act, the Senate minority leader flubbed his syntax while accurately noting that the voting rate among black Americans (62.6% in 2020) closely mirrors that of the American population at large (66.8% in 2020).
“Well, the concern is misplaced because if you look at the statistics, African–American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans,” McConnell said.
“A recent survey, 94% of Americans thought it was easy to vote,” McConnell added. “This is not a problem. Turnout is up.”
Instead, low-info radicals deceptively misconstrued his remarks to claim that McConnell was excluding the black population from the latter “American” category.
I need you to understand that this is who Mitch McConnell is.
Being Black doesn’t make you less of an American, no matter what this craven man thinks.

When CNN asked if McConnell had left out a word in his comment, a spokesman for his office said McConnell meant to say “other Americans” not just “Americans.”
Some media outlets, such as the New York Times, brushed past the confusing wordage to focus on qualifying McConnell’s claim to death.
“[H]igh voter turnout and perceptions that voting was easy in past elections do not prove that concerns about voting access in future elections are ‘misplaced,’ as Mr. McConnell suggested,” groused a so-called fact-check from the Blue Lady.
Many leftists, of course, were content to cry racism, intolerance and inequity—because that’s what leftists do when they’re losing on substance and their policies are less popular than head lice.
After centuries of building this nation, Republicans still don’t consider Black voters to be Americans.
That’s why not a single one of them voted to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act or the Freedom to Vote Act.

Paging Dr. Freud! Also, Mitch is citing past election turnout, which is PRECISELY THE REASON his party is trying to shut that increased voting by African-Americans and other POC down. @LeaderMcConnell knows that, because he hopes to benefit from it. https://t.co/ke5XeJQeUr

Pennsylvania state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, currently vying for a US Senate seat, picked up the theme, croaking that, “Mitch McConnell’s comments suggesting African Americans aren’t fully American wasn’t a Freudian slip—it was a dog whistle. The same one he has blown for years.”

Democrats will beat this drum relentlessly and desperately, and for as long as they think it serves as useful diversion from their continued failings.
They understand public polling, across all spectrums, is turning badly against them; that a growing number of even Democrats realize they’ve been gaslit by 12 months of lies about voting rights, insurrection, woke indoctrination, vaccine passports and mask mandates, as inflation skyrockets, shelves empty, crime soars and Biden, asleep and incoherent at the wheel, drives America off a cliff.
Is it any wonder they’d grab this innocuous blunder from McMumbles and run with it like he was a racist calling Barack Obama an articulate, bright, clean African-American?
