(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) YouTube censored Italy’s prime-minister elect, Giorgia Meloni, because she gave a speech that defended God, family and country against “financial speculators” who want to create consumer slaves, Legal Insurrection reported.
It comes as panicked mainstream outlets have pounced to accuse the conservative, pro-values, anti-immigration Meloni of trying to restore the fascist Benito Mussolini regime to power.
With the November midterm election approaching in the U.S., YouTube appears to be ratcheting up its routine anti-Right censorship efforts.
The Google-owned video-sharing platform removed a speech that Meloni gave in 2019 at the World Congress of Families because it violated “YouTube’s Community Guidelines.”
YouTube provided no specific reason for the video’s removal, which had been on the platform for years prior to the victory of Meloni’s center-right coalition on Sept. 25.
In the speech, Meloni defended Christianity, the traditional family and unique cultures against atheism, financialization and globalization.
“Everything that defines us is now an enemy for those who would like us to no longer have an identity and to simply be perfect consumer slaves,” Meloni said, according to an Italian to English translation.
YouTube likely removed Meloni’s speech because every mainstream American pundit has described her as a fascist, a Nazi or far-right.
However, left-wing Italians have rejected the idea that Meloni embraces fascism or threatens democratic norms.
Former lefty Italian PM throws cold water on lib media’s “fascism” fantasy:
“Personally I was against Georgia Meloni. I’m not her best friend. We are rivals but she is not a danger to democracy. The idea there is a risk of fascism in Italy is absolutely fake news.” pic.twitter.com/8jt2jomQ1S

Meloni said white, European Christians must be allowed to have their own identity and to preserve it against attacks from immigration, globalization and other destablizing forces.
“I can’t define myself as Italian, Christian, woman, mother. No. I must be citizen x, gender x, parent 1, parent 2. I must be a number,” she said. “
