White House Spox Pressed to Confirm Who Is Lying to Biden

'So, the president understands, and we’ve talked about this many times, that inflation is an issue... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked a series of questions at a recent briefing, pushing press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to explain what the Biden administration is doing to help Americans as inflation continues to rise.

According to the Daily Wire, Doocy started by asking if Biden truly believes that fighting inflation is his top priority, why Americans have not seen any progress being made or prices declining.

“Following up on something you said earlier, if President Biden’s top domestic priority is inflation, why doesn’t he have more to show for it?” Doocy asked.

“So, the president understands, and we’ve talked about this many times, that inflation is an issue … high cost … cost is an issue for the American people, and so he’s been very clear about making that his number one economic priority. And he has done the work,” Jean-Pierre insisted.

The insurrectionist mouthpiece continued, praising the Inflation Reduction Act, claiming that it was going to lower costs for seniors and chastising Republicans who did not vote for the measure.

Continuing to deride Republicans, she insisted that they would move to repeal the act, which would “make things worse.”

“But who exactly thinks the president is doing a good job on inflation?” Doocy responded. “Because we’ve got a poll that finds he receives his lowest job ratings on inflation, net negative 38 points.”

“We understand that there are challenges that are in front of us here in this country, that is why the president has taken action to lower costs,” Jean-Pierre argued, mentioning gas prices as an example despite the fact that gas prices have been on the rise again in recent days.

Doocy followed up by asking whether the president’s economic advisors have mentioned to him that the consensus is that the American Rescue Plan contributed to inflation.

Jean-Pierre countered by saying that Biden’s policies are popular with Americans, and shifted the blame for the economic question to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

“Look, Secretary Yellen, who is incredibly well respected as you know in the economic space, has spoken to this so I will leave her words speak to that, to the statement that you just made.”
