(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Just days after getting reprimanded by a federal court for colluding with social media companies to restrict conservatives’ freedom of speech, President Joe Biden and his administration have decided to rig artificial intelligence to make it woke as well, Fox News reported.
In an October “Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights” released by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the White House warned that “algorithmic discrimination” could undermine the nation’s long efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
The plan also suggests “proactive equity assessments as part of the system design,” among other steps in the promotion of “data equity.”
Among the members of Biden’s National Science and Technology Council is Vice President Kamala Harris, who Biden has called an “AI czar.”
In 2019, while still a Senator, Harris warned about the dangers of “racial bias” in AI: “unlike the racial bias that you can pretty easily [detect] when you get stopped in a department store or while you’re driving, the bias that is built into technology will not be very easy to detect.”
Further, Biden also signed an executive order in February, arguing that the government should aid the technology industry in its efforts to “root out bias in the design and use of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence.”
According to the American Accountability Foundation’s Tom Jones, the left’s plans to introduce affirmative action and woke ideology into technology are blatant and must be halted.
“Under the guise of fighting ‘algorithmic discrimination’ and ‘harmful bias,’ the Biden administration is trying to rig AI to follow the woke left’s rules,” Jones said.
In Jones’s view, the policy has been worked out “not by scientists, but by racially obsessed social academics and activists.”
He also warned that what we have seen happen with Google, Facebook and Twitter, could just as easily happen with artificial intelligence.
“We’re already seen the biggest tech firms in the world, like Google under Eric Schmidt, use their power to push the left’s agenda. This would take the tech/woke alliance to a whole new, truly terrifying level.”
