WATCH: Tucker Carlson Interviews Hunter Biden Business Associate

'I don’t know if it was an orchestrated calling or not, but it was certainly powerful because if you’re sitting with a foreign business person and you hear the vice president’s voice, that’s pretty impactful stuff...'

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Following the House Oversight Committee’s closed-doors interview of former Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired his own interview with Archer on Wednesday—confirming some of the details Archer is said to have told Congress, and shedding new light on his one-time friendship with the U.S. President’s son.

Carlson only aired a roughly 11-minute clip on Wednesday, but said a more in-depth interview will be published later.

Carlson spent most of Wednesday’s segment seeking to dispel the notion that Hunter Biden received millions of dollars from foreign nationals because of his business and legal acumen—a claim put forth by people such as Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., who has claimed that Hunter putting his father on the phone during business meetings had nothing to do with business dealings.

Archer, the co-founder of Hunter’s defunct investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners, admitted that Hunter’s calls to his father during business meetings was intended as a power play to impress potential clients.

“I don’t know if it was an orchestrated calling or not, but it was certainly powerful because if you’re sitting with a foreign business person and you hear the vice president’s voice, that’s pretty impactful stuff,” Archer told Carlson, describing Hunter and Joe’s tactics as “an abuse of soft power.”

“The power to have that access and that conversation—not scheduled—that’s the pinnacle of power in DC,” he said.

Archer was convicted in 2018 on fraud charges, and is expected to serve a one-year sentence.

When it was reported last week that Archer was set to testify to Congress, the Justice Department reportedly tried to have him report to jail immediately. But after backlash from GOP lawmakers, the DOJ said Archer can report to jail after his testimony.

Republicans say Archer’s testimony is proof of Biden family corruption.

“Devon Archer’s testimony confirms Joe Biden lied when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said earlier this week.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., echoed Comer’s sentiments, asserting, “Despite what he has said, Joe knew exactly what Hunter was up to.”
