Former President Donald Trump’s new social media company, the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), is set to launch on President’s Day, according to its App Store listing.
TMTG will offer several different platforms to users looking to escape Big Tech’s censorship. Truth Social will be the company’s alternative to Twitter, which suspended Trump last year after the Jan. 6 Capitol protests.
TMTG will also offer a subscription service called TMTG+ that will provide entertainment, news, and podcast videos. The company also plans to unveil its own podcast network at some point, according to a November investor presentation.
Trump’s company merged with digital World Acquisition Corp in October for a reported value of $875 million. It also received a $1 billion commitment from unidentified investors, and agreed to a deal with Rumble, a conservative video platform.
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., resigned from Congress last month to take a leading position in TMTG.
Even though he is leaving Congress, Nunes made it clear that he still plans to play an active role in the GOP.
“Rest assured, I have not, by any means, given up our collective fight — I’ll just be pursuing it through other means,” Nunes said.
He added that he’s excited to be a part of the conservative effort to “reopen the Internet and allow for the free flow of ideas and expression without censorship.”
“The United States of America made the dream of the Internet a reality and it will be an American company that restores the dream,” he said. “I’m humbled and honored President Trump has asked me to lead the mission and the world class team that will deliver on this promise.”
Trump praised Nunes as a “fighter and leader” and said Nunes “will make an excellent CEO” of TMTG.
“Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great,” Trump said in a statement last month. “America is ready for TRUTH Social and the end to censorship and political discrimination.”
