(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday defended Herschel Walker, the Republican Georgia Senate nominee who has become engulfed by a frenzy of media malignancy after the Daily Beast alleged the former gridiron great had encouraged a women to get an abortion and had paid for it.
The far-leftist media organ allegedly obtained a $575 abortion clinic receipt, a “get well” card Walker gave to the woman and a bank deposit receipt with a $700 check Walker supposedly gave to her.
Walker released a statement calling the story a “flat-out-lie” and said he will be filing a defamation lawsuit against the Daily Beast.

“Herschel Walker is being slandered and maligned by the Fake News Media and obviously, the Democrats,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Interestingly, I’ve heard many horrible things about his opponent, Raphael Warnock, things that nobody should be talking about, so we don’t,” wrote Trump, who endorsed and has strongly backed Walker’s run.
Trump was likely alluding to the mainstream media suppressing and actively ignoring the myriad domestic problems besieging Walker’s opponent.
Top among those incidents was a 2020 domestic dispute between Warnock and his now ex-wife, who accused him of running over her foot with a car.
Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock’s ex-wife on his character after he allegedly ran over her foot with his car:
“I’ve tried to keep the way he acts under wraps for a long time, & today he crossed the line… He is a great actor. He is phenomenal at putting on a really good show.” pic.twitter.com/0SuLy1IPub

Defending Walker against the abortion allegations, Trump wrote, “Herschel has properly denied the charges against him, and I have no doubt that he is correct. They are trying to destroy a man who has true greatness in his future, just as he had athletic greatness in his past.”
“It’s very important for our Country and the Great State of Georgia that Herschel Walker wins this Election,” Trump wrote.
Walker enhanced that line during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, where the Senate candidate denied the abortion allegations and said Democrats were desperate to retain the Congressional seat.
“Now you know how important this seat is, that they’ll do anything to win this seat,” Walker said. “Lie, because they want to make it about everything else except what the true problems we have in this country is — inflation, a border wide open, crime.
“They don’t want to talk about that so they’re making up lies now.”
When pressed on whether he could recall sending anyone a $700 check, Walker said, “Well, I send money to a lot of people and that’s what’s so funny.”
“I give money to people all the time, because I’m always helping people,” Walker said, noting his multiple scholarship programs and other charitable endeavors.
“I believe in being generous. God has blessed me and I want to bless others,” Walker said.
