Santa Barbara, which holds intimate talks with children after schools’ approval — pushed girls as young as 12 to have sex, in addition to failing to report child abuse and at least one case of rape.
Jennifer Freed encouraged a woman to not press charges against a teacher who assaulted her when she was a minor, the Daily Wire reported. Freed’s more than 300-page graduate school dissertation proves that there is a pattern behind her decision.
Freed interviewed four girls who had sex with older boys when they were between the ages of twelve and fifteen to argue against laws requiring mental health professionals to report certain crimes based on the age of sexual partners.
All of the teenagers who were interviewed by Freed outlined some level of apparent criminal conduct, but Freed never even bothered to report it to authorities.
Every teenage girl who was interviewed by Freed strongly described regretting having sex at a young age, but every time, Freed tried asserting that they secretly enjoyed it and culture was to blame.
They “seemed reluctant to admit their desires, as if that made them less acceptable,” she concluded in her dissertation. “Most girls have counter-narratives to disguise their own desires, and protect themselves from social judgment.”
Throughout each interview, as it was indicated by the transcripts, Freed tried steering them to treat their experiences as positive, including one girl who said that she was raped.
The first teenager said that, at 13, she got drunk and raped by an “older” guy who “took her virginity.” She described him as “very aggressive,” which was the reason they had sex, even though she didn’t want to do it. The man also had sex with a girl’s friend. He is now in jail for killing someone, according to her.
A second teenager, a 14-year-old at the time of the interview, told Freed that she lost her virginity to a 16-year-old guy when she was 12. She said that she regretted the experience, adding that she would advise girls of that age to not be sexual.
A third teenager, who was 18 at the time of the interview, said that she was raped at a party by a 19-year-old when she was 15 and drunk.
Freed also downplayed the case of a fourth teenager, 17 at the time of the interview, when she lost her virginity at 13 to a 15-year-old guy.
