(Corine Gatti, Headline USA) PublcSq., an anti-woke alternative to Amazon, announced its plans to go public on July 20, challenging the Big Tech retail giant’s dominance with the opportunity to “shop your values, locally and online,” Red State reported.
The company, which can be accessed online or by downloading the app, is free for both users and businesses.
Users with an account can search the app for businesses in categories like banks, food and jewelry. Customers can also filter results to find a small business in their community or search for goods throughout the nation.
“The real goal was to prioritize supporting small businesses,” PublicSq. founder Michael Seifert told the New York Post in March. “But the mission has expanded to include supporting any business with similar values.”
PublicSq. pledged to align customers with their core values including being pro-life, pro-family and pro-freedom.
The startup experienced rapid growth in its member base during the month of May, with an increase of over 300,000 users and a growth rate of more than 40% in one week, a June press release noted.
The surge came at a time when several major retailers, including Target, faced public backlash over agendas viewed by many consumers to be overly progressive and highly politicized.
From the participation of biological males in women’s sports, to the concept of “gender-affirming care,” to Anheuser–Busch’s twisted hookup with transgender brand ambassador Dylan Mulvaney, frustration reached its peak during LGBT “Pride” month as radical initiatives continued to be shoved down people’s throats.
While conservative boycotts have proven to be immensely successful in some areas, however, companies like PublicSq. are now beginning to fill the void in what some have dubbed the “parallel economy.”
“Our mission guides everything we do,” the copmany said in one of the values statements listed on its website. “We believe in the greatness of this Nation and will always fight to defend it.”
