Squad Member Plays Victim After Bringing Violent Protest (and Possibly COVID) to Congress

'There needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives, and unfortunately there’s plenty to go around...'

A radical, socialist, perennially race-baiting Squad member who previously advocated for “unrest in the streets” played the shrinking violet after last week’s events at the US Capitol.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., claimed that her office’s “panic” buttons had been ripped out before the mass demonstration, in which many of the participants expressed support for President Donald Trump.

But Pressley, one of the Democrat sponsors of the House’s recent impeachment do-over, sang a different tune in August, openly advocating for the violent targeting of GOP legislators by encouraging lawless activists to apply “pressure.”

“I’m looking to the public. You know, this is as much about public outcry, and organizing, and mobilizing, and applying pressure so that this GOP-led Senate and these governors that continue to carry water for this administration,” Pressley told MSNBC at the time.

“… Hold them accountable,” she continued. “Make the phone calls, send the emails, show up. There needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives, and unfortunately there’s plenty to go around.”

After coming face-to-face with the inevitable outcome of her own subversive and anti-democratic rhetoric, Pressley has now called for her political opponents to be forced out of power, simply for pursuing a constitutionally supported remedy—frequently used by Democrats—in seeking to challenge the widely disputed and dubious election outcome.

To bolster her demands, she has turned to promoting increasingly unhinged conspiracy theories.

In a breathless interview with the Boston Globe, Pressley’s chief of staff, Sarah Groh, claimed that “[e]very panic button in my office had been torn out—the whole unit.”

Groh suggested that they had been removed prior to the Capitol breach—which evidence suggests may have been incited, in part, by far-left Antifa radicals.

But despite the insinuation that some plot was afoot to trap Pressley and her staff, Boston’s CBS affiliate noted that “[t]he missing panic buttons weren’t discovered until the attack.”

Pressley also blamed Republicans who showed up maskless at that day’s joint session of Congress for her husband’s having caught coronavirus—even though she, herself, tested negative.

Pressley acknowledged showing mild symptoms well before the incubation period for COVID would have suggested transmission at the Jan. 6 event.

Nonetheless, she tried to link a recent COVID outbreak among a handful of House Democrats with the decision by 147 Republicans to contest the vote fraud and to ignore House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s attempt to quell the debate by requiring they not be present on the floor.

There have been no reports of Republican members testing positive in the wake of the protest.

Conversely, the fact that Pressley’s own husband did would suggest that she may have been responsible for the spread while unleashing an angry rant on her colleagues and furiously storming from the room.

Other unhinged Democrats also have begun advancing outlandish conspiracies, such as Rep. Mikie Sherrill, who bizarrely claimed—with little pushback from left-wing media—that the commonplace tours members of Congress often grant their constituents had become “reconnaissance” missions in the day prior to the protest.

Sherrill’s lunacy was backed by 30 other Democrats, who demanded an investigation of their GOP colleagues.

“Many of the Members who signed this letter … witnessed an extremely high number of outside groups in the complex on Tuesday, January 5,” they wrote in a letter to the acting sergeants-at-arms.

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators are believed to have attended the mostly peaceful rally, where so-called insurrectionists were caught on security footage respectfully filing through Statuary Hall, which joins the two legislative chambers.

A few dozen have since been arrested for their role in ransacking the building and illegally entering congressional office spaces.

One participant, Ashli Babbitt—a 14-year Air Force veteran from San Diego—was shot and killed while climbing, unarmed, through a broken window that led to Pelosi’s chambers.
