(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Most Americans did not follow the Disney-Florida dispute, but the majority of independent voters said they no longer trust the entertainment company, Issues & Insights reported.
Only a third of independents said that they kept up-to-date on Disney’s opposition to Florida’s parental rights bill, which Leftists falsely labeled the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Yet, 52 percent of independent voters said they do not trust Disney to provide appropriate content for their children, while 42 percent said they trust Disney.
An I&I/TIPP poll, which surveyed 1,305 American adults, found predictable partisan results: 77 percent of Democrats trust Disney, but 70 percent of Republicans do not trust Disney.
The majority of American adults, however, still trust Disney.
Thirty-one percent said they had “a lot of trust” and 23 percent said they had “quite a bit of trust,” while only 41 percent said they had “no trust at all” or “little trust.”
This may reflect the fact that Americans as a whole did not pay much attention to the story. Only 47 percent of Americans said they followed the story, but Democrats showed far more interest than Republicans and independents.
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law last month that prevents public schools from teaching kindergarterners to third graders about gender identity and sexual orientation.
Initially, Disney’s leaders offered soft opposition to the bill, but once the LGBTQ lobby pounced on the company for being insufficiently woke, its leaders declared their commitment to a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda.”
Even left-wing television host Bill Maher said on the Joe Rogan Experience that Disney became too extreme in its LGBTQ advocacy.
