Johnson Reveals Reason Weiss Tapped as Special Counsel of Bidens Probe

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In an interview with Fox News host Will Cain, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., expressed his concerns about the promoting of David Weiss, the current U.S. district attorney for Delaware, to special counsel in the criminal investigation of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

On the August 12 edition of Fox & Friends Weekend, Johnson criticized Weiss for lacking independence and questioned whether the treatment of Hunter Biden would be fair under his tenure as district attorney.

During the interview, Cain asked, “David Weiss’ title has changed, why should we think the treatment of Hunter Biden will change?”

In response, Johnson didn’t mince his words predicting that Hunter will still be protected by the DOJ. “We have no expectation it would change,” Johnson said. “The sweetheart deal, the plea agreement was really a grotesque miscarriage of justice. This is something that U.S. Attorney Weiss and his prosecutor tried to pull the wool over the eyes of the court and the judge. Fortunately, the judge saw through it and asked some pretty embarrassing questions, and they had to retreat from the deal.”

He went on to assert, “U.S. Attorney Weiss has no intention of holding Hunter Biden or any of his family members, including President Biden, who is corrupted… accountable.”

The Wisconsin senator cited current regulations on the appointment of special counsels, saying, “We needed an independent prosecutor here, in some way, shape, or form. Well, the regulations state the special counsel has to come from outside the government. [Weiss]’s obviously in government. But I think the more serious offense is that he has no independence whatsoever.”

In his scorching criticism of Weiss, Johnson went as far as calling him “the least independent individual that Merrick Garland could have appointed.” Johnson accused Garland of purposely keeping Weiss as the chief investigator of the Bidens’ potential crimes as a plot to protect the First Family. “That’s who Merrick Garland appointed. Go figure,” Johnson concluded.

GOP Senator Breaks Silence on McConnell’s Stonewalling of Biden Impeachment

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, shed light on the Senate Republican leaders’ decision not to support the House GOP-led impeachment against President Joe Biden, despite growing evidence of potential political corruption.

Cruz made his remarks during a Sunday interview on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures. Host Maria Bartiromo pressed Cruz about Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s choice against impeaching the scandal-ridden president, citing several documents showing that Biden was involved in several alleged bribery schemes.

In response, Cruz acknowledged McConnell’s lack of concern about the bribery scandal, stating, “I have no idea what Mitch knows or  doesn’t know.” He emphasized the disinterest of Senate Democrats in investigating the sitting president, suggesting that the Democratic Party is protecting Biden and would likely block any real investigation in Senate committees.

In an interview with the New York Times, McConnell called a potential impeachment of Biden “not good for the country.” He further elaborated on his sentiment, claiming, “I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing.”

However, McConnell’s remarks drastically differ from the efforts led by Republicans in the House to investigate allegations of corruption involving Biden. On Friday, Rep. Greg Stuebe, R-Fla., preemptively introduced articles of impeachment against Biden, citing current evidence showing Biden’s involvement in his son’s dealings.

Similarly, Cruz has supported impeachment inquiries against Biden. During his Fox News interview, Cruz doubled down on his support. Drawing a parallel to the impeachment of former President Donald Trump, Cruz highlighted the Pelosi precedent that had set a problematic tone for impeachment proceedings.

“When the Democrats abused impeachment power by impeaching Trump twice because they hated him,” Cruz added. “The impeachments were bogus, they were not well grounded and factually legally. I said at the time, they were setting into motion a process where impeachment becomes a weapon each side uses against the other, and I think that’s a bad dynamic.”

Cruz suggested that Democrats had established a precedent where impeachment became a weapon to be wielded by both parties against their opponents. In contrast, Cruz asserted that the current situation was different due to the gravity of the bribery allegations.

“This is qualitatively different because the allegations here are a bribery,” Cruz continued. “Bribery is specifically enumerated in the Constitution of the United States and the scope of it, $20 million while [Joe Biden] was vice president.”

Cruz also cited evidence from alleged WhatsApp texts sent by Hunter Biden to a senior Chinese official, insinuating extortion involving Joe Biden.

Documents obtained through testimonies of IRS whistleblowers and Devon Archer reveal that Biden’s involvement in his son’s business dealings, amounting to a potentially illegal influence-peddling scheme, was much deeper than previously reported.

Concluding the interview, Bartiromo sought to understand McConnell’s perspective further, prompting Cruz to respond, “You would have to ask Mitch.”

House Republicans Demand Closed Border for Passing a Budget

(, The Center Square) – Fifteen Republican U.S. representatives from Texas say they won’t support new funding for the federal government at the end of the fiscal year on Sep. 30 unless the Biden administration secures the border and drops its lawsuit against the state of Texas.

Their demand also requires Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to be fired or have his salary stripped.

The delegation, led by U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, signed a joint letter to fellow members of Congress. It states, “Dear Colleague, The State of Texas is bearing the brunt of a national crisis at our southern border directly resulting from the unlawful and irresponsible actions of President [Joe] Biden and Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas. Criminal cartels maintain operational control of the border. Migrants are dying on Texas ranches and along the Rio Grande. … ranchers are threatened, and high-speed chases are tearing through small towns. … dangerous fentanyl is pouring into our communities via an open border… killing 200 Americans a day.”

As a result, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, they argue, has had to use limited Texas taxpayer-funded resources to “do at least part of the job of the federal government refuses” to do. Instead of reimbursing Texas, the Biden administration sued Texas, they point out, while Texas, since 2021, has funded border security efforts reaching $10 billion.

When funding for the federal government expires, Congress will likely pass a continuing resolution or full-year appropriations to fund it, they point out. Only enacting a CR would fund current levels and “perpetuate the border crisis;” passing a full-year DHS appropriations bill without forcing the significant change necessary to secure the southern border “is equally objectionable,” they argue.

“We must use the power of the purse to force President Biden to end the carnage resulting from open borders,” they said, adding they will oppose appropriations for DHS until it takes necessary steps to secure the border. This includes signing HR 2, Roy’s border security bill, adopting policies that give law enforcement and the U.S. military the tools to target cartels, reimbursing Texas $10 billion and ensuring Mayorkas is removed from office, fired or defunded.

The demand is in line with a request by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody asking Congress to impeach or remove Mayorkas, and if that isn’t done, to strip Mayorkas of his salary.

The signers of the letter include Reps. Brian Babin, Wesley Hunt, Keith Self, Randy Weber, Beth Van Duyne, Nathaniel Moran, Michael Burgess, Michael Cloud, Lance Gooden, Troy Nehls, Pete Sessions, Ronny Jackson, Pat Fallon and Morgan Luttrell.

Mayorkas has repeatedly said the border is secure and he will not resign.

Abbott maintains Texas has a right to defend its border and isn’t backing down from fighting the Biden administration lawsuit over barriers Texas placed in the Rio Grande River to deter illegal crossings.

More than 8 million people have illegally crossed into the U.S. from the northern and southwest borders since Biden’s been in office, with numbers continuing to increase, especially at ports of entry. Record numbers of known and suspected terrorists and criminals are being apprehended, raising concerns about how many more are not being caught because the volume of people illegally entering continues to climb despite claims made by CBP to the contrary.

Globalist Pentagon Sells Off Trump’s Border Wall

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The globalist Pentagon put Donald Trump‘s U.S.-Mexico border wall materials on the auction block this week in a clandestine fire sale.

The Pentagon is now moving ahead with the sale of the leftover border wall materials, many of which have been sitting for years in piles on government and private land out West, the U.S. Department of Defense’s combat support branch, the Defense Logistics Agency [DLA], confirmed late Thursday.

“[The items up for auction this week are] excess border wall materials that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers turned over to the DLA for disposition and are now for sale,” a DLA spokesperson stated.

Gov Planet, an online auction marketplace run by publicly traded Canadian company Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, is leading the liquidation. Gov Planet began posting photos this week on its website and social media of large sections of the unbuilt wall that are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

However, the auctioneer has been very careful to not describe the items as parts of Trump’s border wall. Instead of doing that, parts were generically listed as “steel tubing and sticks for industrial construction.”

A person who provide the information said that the Pentagon instructed Gov Planet to aggressively market and auction off approximately 12,000 border wall items, without mentioning Trump, Mexico or the border wall, so that the government officials would not lose their jobs.

“We are legally not allowed to mention these are the border wall materials, or we could lose our jobs. But that’s what they are – 110 percent,” the source said.

“With all the news about Trump right now, I don’t think they want to cause any more chaos. But this is a huge deal and with everything that’s going on with Trump, it’s amazing to me that here’s the wall, being sold behind Americans’ backs.”

WATCH: Exploding House Kills Four People

(Headline USA) Four people were dead and a fifth was unaccounted for following a house explosion in western Pennsylvania that destroyed three structures and damaged at least a dozen others Saturday morning, authorities said.

Allegheny County officials said three people were taken to hospitals after the blast shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the borough of Plum, about 20 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Three people were transported to area hospitals, including one who was listed in critical condition and two who were treated and released. More than 20 firefighters were evaluated, many for heat exhaustion, authorities said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office was expected to provide additional information about the deceased victims.

Emergency officials suspended operations Saturday night due to weather and concern for the safety of investigators. Crews were expected to resume working at the site on Sunday morning.

Emergency responders reported people trapped under debris after one house apparently exploded and two others were engulfed in flames, county spokesperson Amie Downs said.

Crews from at least 18 fire departments worked to douse the flames with the help of water tankers from Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, Downs said.

Officials told reporters at the scene they did not know exactly who was at home and who may have had visitors at the time of the explosion, so they could not provide an exact number of people considered missing.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation by Plum and county law enforcement and the county fire marshal’s office. The state public utilities commission and local utilities also were at the scene.

George Emanuele, who lives three houses down from the home that exploded, told the Tribune-Review that he and a neighbor went to the home before the fire got out of control, where they found a man laying in the backyard and dragged him away from the scene.

Rafal Kolankowski, who lives a few houses away, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the explosion broke the windows in his house and knocked him and his wife to the ground.

After recovering and checking on his son, Kolankowski went outside and a woman told him another woman had been upstairs and a man was in the basement. The other woman later emerged covered in white ash, but the individual in the basement had not yet exited, he said.

“It’s just tragic, I mean, it looks like a war zone — it looks like a bomb hit our neighborhood and it’s just unfortunate,” Kolankowski said. “I was just with some of the neighbors yesterday, right, and now this happens.”

Jeremy Rogers, who lives two doors down, told the paper he had been out shopping when he got an alert about a problem at his house and saw “all sorts of stuff flying around.” His family was able to get out safely and he was allowed to go inside quickly to rescue his dog, although he could not locate the family’s three cats.

Shortage of Bus Drivers Closes School for Four Days

(Headline USA) Louisville schools will remain closed early next week to allow for more time to fix bus routes whose redesign left some children at home on the first school day this year and others getting home hours late.

The Jefferson County Public Schools had already canceled classes Thursday and Friday in response to Wednesday’s route fiasco. Now there will be no school Monday and Tuesday “as we continue to work on short and long-term changes to ensure the reliability of our bus services.” the district said Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Kentucky’s largest district, with 96,000 students, had retooled its bus system through a Massachusetts-based consulting company that uses computer algorithms to map out courses and stops. It was a response to a chronic bus driver shortage. The redesigned plan reduced the number of routes.

Wednesday’s mess resulted in hungry and tired children, angry parents and exasperated politicians.

An apologetic Superintendent Marty Pollio had signaled Friday that classes may have to be delayed into next week to fix the problems. He said the district should have anticipated the new plan didn’t leave enough time for buses to get from stop to stop and transport its 65,000 riders.

Some state lawmakers are now calling on evaluating whether the district should be split up.

The school system said Saturday that all extracurricular activities, including athletics, would continue as planned Monday and Tuesday.

Many other districts across the country also are experiencing bus driver shortages.

In 2021 Massachusetts called in the National Guard to drive school busses.

Gun Grab: Gun Manufacturers May be Sued for Mass Shootings

(Greg Bishop, The Center Square) – Effective immediately, Illinois firearm industry members can be targeted with legal action for allegedly contributing to unsafe conditions, advertising to children or for paramilitary activity.

On the heels of the Illinois Supreme Court upholding the state’s gun and magazine ban Friday, Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed House Bill 218 Saturday.

“We hold opioid manufacturers accountable, vaping companies accountable, predatory lenders accountable,” Pritzker said in a statement. “Gun manufacturers shouldn’t get to hide from the law – and now, they won’t be able to. Here’s to an Illinois where everyone feels safe in every corner of our great state.”

During a bill signing ceremony with gun control advocates, Pritzker said they are taking action.

“The state of Illinois will now be allowed to take legal action against firearms industry players that endanger the public safety and health of our people,” Pritzker said.

Robert Bevis of firearm manufacturer and retailer Law Weapons in Naperville said the measure is another example of an infringement.

“Automobile manufacturers are not responsible for people that drive drunk and crash their cars,” Bevis said. “We can’t be held responsible for the way somebody uses a firearm if it’s in a nefarious way.”

Bevis is a lead plaintiff in one of the cases pending in the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals challenging Illinois’ and Naperville’s gun and magazine ban. In a separate state-level case, the state’s ban was upheld Friday by the Illinois Supreme Court.

The measure Pritzker signed Saturday says it is unlawful for the industry to “knowingly create” or “contribute to a condition in Illinois that endangers the safety or health of the public by conduct either unlawful in itself or unreasonable under all circumstances, including failing to establish or utilize reasonable controls.”

Such steps in the law firearm industry members must take are to prevent the sale to straw purchasers, to prevent loss or theft of firearm-related products, prevent advertising that encourages “paramilitary or private militia activity in Illinois,” or to “recommend, or encourage” anyone under the age of 18 years old to “unlawfully purchase or possess or use a firearm-related product in Illinois.”

The law says unlawful conduct includes advertising for youth using things such as caricatures that appear to be minors or cartoon characters, branded clothing, toys, games or stuffed animals that promote the firearm-related product to youth or are made in youth sizes or are advertised in areas “predominantly composed of minors.”

Gun rights advocate Todd Vandermyde testified against the bill during spring session. The Aurora Sportsmen’s Club Vandermyde is a member of is set to host a family event with “a lot of minors that show up to that event with their families and do shooting.”

“The question is does that marketing somehow bring our gun club into being sued just because,” he said.

Saturday, Vandermyde alleged the measure violates rights on several levels.

“You’ve got the right to assemble, you’ve got our free speech rights, you’ve got our Second Amendment rights,” Vandermyde said.

The law does not apply to communications or promotional materials regarding lawful recreational activity with a firearm such as practice shooting or hunting.

Gun control advocacy group Brady praised the measure, saying the firearms industry has been allowed to market and distribute their products because of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

“No industry should be held above the law or given a free pass to engage in such dangerous and irresponsible conduct, especially an industry linked to the deaths of 1,606 Illinoisans every year,” said Brady President Kris Brown.

Before Saturday’s signing, state Sen. Jason Plummer, R-Edwardsville, said Pritzker and the Democrats had shown a disregard for the Constitution, from allowing noncitizens to become police to targeting the free speech of pregnancy centers and more.

“This governor is a dangerous governor,” Plummer said. “This governor doesn’t think the rules apply to him, and he has no respect for the constitution, and it’s time for the judiciary to start reining him in.”

The new law mirrors one signed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2022. Assembly Bill 1594 created the “firearm standard of conduct,” requiring members of the firearm industry to “enforce reasonable controls” to prevent the sale of firearms to a downstream distributor that does not enforce the same controls. The National Shooting Sports Foundation challenged the law in federal court in May 2023, asking the judge to stop it from taking effect while it’s litigated. Attorneys for Attorney General Rob Bonta and the NSSF on Friday agreed on a Sept. 11 deadline for the state to respond to the injunction request.

Earlier this month, a federal judge put an injunction on Illinois from enforcing a separate law that allows the Attorney General to sue pregnancy centers for alleged deceptive practices. Federal District Judge Iain Johnston called that measure “stupid” and “very likely unconstitutional.”

Biden Admin Released Venezuelan Terrorism Sponsor Caught Crossing Border

(, The Center Square) – Another foreign national who illegally immigrated and was released into the country by the Biden administration had an extensive criminal record and was wanted in Venezuela for financing terrorism.

In April 2021, Border Patrol agents arrested a Venezuelan national for illegal entry near San Luis, Arizona, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was charged with inadmissibility under U.S. immigration law and issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge with the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).

When he was given the notice to appear, he was released on parole into the U.S. pending the outcome of his scheduled immigration hearing.

Four months after he was released into the U.S., in August 2021, a criminal court in Valencia, Venezuela, issued an arrest warrant for him for “charges of continuous fraud, money laundering and association regarding organized crime and financing of terrorism.” Venezuela’s international criminal warrant was the only reason he was arrested because its warrant alerted ERO Chicago officials to his fugitive status.

Two years after he was first apprehended in Arizona by Border Patrol agents, he was again arrested August 8, 2023, by U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Chicago’s Fugitive Operations Team, according to a news release by CBP ERO.

“ERO Chicago is committed to apprehending those who mistakenly believe they can commit crimes and unlawfully hide from justice here,” ERO Chicago acting Field Office Director LaDeon Francis said. “Those who engage in fraud and funding terrorism must be held accountable for their crimes – especially those who have also openly violated our federal immigration laws.”

When ERO Chicago officials began looking for the Venezuelan man, they then confirmed he was living in ERO Chicago’s area of responsibility. Agents located and detained him without incident, they said. The Venezuelan national is currently in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

This is not the first time a foreign national with ties to terrorism has been released into the U.S. A recent Inspector General report found that a known, suspected terrorist was allegedly released by Yuma Station Border Patrol agents in Arizona because “ineffective practices and processes for resolving inconclusive matches with the Terrorist Watchlist led to multiple mistakes.”

The only reason he was caught was because he was flagged through a Transportation Security Administration airport screening in California when he tried to board a plane heading to Tampa, Florida.

The OIG found that he was released into the U.S. without first confirming that he was on the Terrorist Screening Dataset, otherwise known as the Terrorist Watchlist.

The reason he was released, one Yuma official admitted to the OIG, is because agents were too busy processing a flood of illegal foreign nationals into the country with a station at full capacity, meaning there was nowhere to hold him, and he was released.

Despite agents being overwhelmed with historically high illegal border crossings, agents are still apprehending known and suspected terrorists, according to CBP data. This fiscal year as of July 18, when the data was last updated, Office of Field Operation agents apprehended 61 KSTs at ports of entry at the southwest border. Border Patrol agents apprehend 140 between ports of entry.

Apprehensions of KSTs at the southwest border are significantly lower than apprehensions at the northern border, which total 324 fiscal year to date.

At both borders combined, 525 known, suspected terrorists have been apprehended this fiscal year into July.

‘He’s Compromised’: Judge Jeanine Rips Garland’s Special Counsel Cover-Up

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In a passionate and pointed segment on Sean Hannity’s show, Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro unleashed a barrage of criticism directed at Attorney General Merrick Garland’s controversial decision to appoint David Weiss, the U.S. attorney general for Delaware, as special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden.

Pirro minced no words as she dissected the intricacies of Garland’s move and its perceived implications, which have been the focus of Republicans in the U.S. Congress.

“They should have picked someone, number one, outside of the government,” Pirro declared emphatically, driving home her skepticism about Garland’s selection of Weiss. “Number two, he’s already indicated he’s compromised.” Pirro’s words reflected deep-seated concerns about potential conflicts of interest that could undermine the impartiality of the investigation.

Further delving into her critique, Pirro cast a spotlight on what she viewed as glaring inconsistencies in Weiss’s actions. “He’s the one who put together a plea deal, Sean, that gave Hunter immunity for the rest of his life, but then said the investigation was continuing,” she articulated. This juxtaposition of actions and statements raised significant eyebrows and invited speculation about the true nature of the inquiry.

“Why? Because Congress, the Republicans in the House, cannot investigate,” Pirro continued. Her analysis echoed the sentiment of those who believed that the special counsel appointment might be an attempt to block Republican-led congressional oversight.

Drawing from what she perceived as contradictions, Pirro did not hold back from questioning the motivations behind the attorney general’s actions and citing Weiss’s defunct plea deal with Hunter. “[Weiss] put together a plea deal a federal judge will not allow to go,” she asserted, her voice unwavering. Such a claim implies a possible lack of legitimacy and transparency in the process.

Pirro then delved into a specific instance that she believed undermined the integrity of the investigation. “He comes back and he says, after he said he had all the power he needed to Jim Jordan, but said in a meeting with the FBI and the IRS in October 2022, ‘I’m not the one making the decision’,” she exclaimed, referring to a meeting between Garland and the FBI in 2022.

Concluding her fiery commentary, Pirro took a swipe at the credibility of Weiss. “We make David Weiss out to be a liar,” she stated boldly.

Fact-Checker Scorches Kamala’s ‘False’ Approval Rating Claim

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent claims about non-existent positive approval ratings have been fact-checked even by the Democrat-friendly PolitiFact in a report on August 10.

During an interview with ABC News on July 31, Harris responded to questions about her approval ratings and the role of race and gender in shaping public perception, citing alleged polls that show she is liked by voters. However, PolitiFact rated that statement as “False.”

Linsey Davis, an ABC News reporter, pressed Harris over her historically-low approval ratings. “There are reports that say that you have the lowest approval rating of any vice president. I’m curious, how much role, if any, (do) you feel race and gender play in that?”

Harris refused to answer the question, claiming instead, “There are polls that also say I have great approval ratings.” However, a quick search of the latest polls related to the vice president reveals otherwise.

Harris’s ludicrous assertions caught the attention of PolitiFact, which swiftly debunked the vice president’s statement. “We rate the statement False,” Louis Jacobson, a journalist for PolitiFact, reported.

“The most recent poll in which more people approved than disapproved of Harris’ performance was  more than 100 publicly released polls ago, in October 2021,” Jacobson continued. “ Her FiveThirtyEight average is hovering at about 12 points underwater, and hasn’t been less than 9 points underwater during the past 18 months.”

PolitiFact’s report quoted the exact figures from FiveThirtyEight’s analysis, stating, “At the time the ABC News interview aired, FiveThirtyEight’s average was 39.7% approving of Harris’ performance and 52.3% disapproving, for a net of 12.6 percentage points ‘underwater.’”

This fact-check serves as another blow to the vice president following the damning release of a poll by NBC News that shows Harris facing the highest net negative poll for any vice president in the history of NBC polls.
