Leftist Judge Fines Trump $5K, Threatens Jail for Campaign Post

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In a recent development in the fiery legal battle between the New York Attorney General Letitia James and the Trump organization, a leftist New York judge, Arthur Engoron, has imposed a $5,000 fine on former President Donald Trump for an alleged breach of a gag order.

The order, which restricts Trump from launching verbal assaults on court personnel, was allegedly flouted by the former president, prompting the fine and a stern warning from the judge.

“On October 3, during a break in this trial, defendant Donald Trump posted to his social media account an untrue, disparaging, and personally identifying post about my Principal Law Clerk,” Engoron wrote in a filing on Friday, claiming that he called on Trump to remove the post “immediately.”

The post in question included a photo of a Engorron law clerk alongside Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. “Schumer’s girlfriend, Alison R. Greenfield, is running this case against me. How disgraceful! This case should be dismissed immediately!!” Trump said in the now-deleted post.

The judge added that Trump agreed to remove the posts. “Approximately 10 minutes later, Donald Trump represented to me that he had taken down the offending post, and that he would not engage in similar behavior going forward,” he declared, before detailing the “very limited” gag order.

Despite Trump’s assurances, the post remained on the website DonaldJTrump.com for 17 days, Engoron revealed. “I understand it was removed late last night, but only in response to an email from this Court,” he continued.

Engoron issued a threat to Trump if further violations, including those done involuntarily, are uncovered. “Make no mistake: future violations, whether intentional of unintentional, will subject the violator to far more severe sanctions, which may include, but are not limited to, steeper financial penalties, holding Donald Trump in contempt of court, and possibly imprisoning him pursuant to New York Judiciary Law.”

The ongoing trial has put the future of Trump’s business empire in a precarious position, with accusations surfacing that Trump artificially inflated his financial standing to secure favorable loans.

On the other hand, Trump has maintained his innocence, going as far as saying he is not afraid of facing jail time. “I am willing to go to jail if that’s what it takes for our country to win and become a democracy again,” he told his supporters during an campaign event in Iowa on Oct. 17.

The infamous Trump organization case was first ignited by James, who during her campaign for attorney general pledged to prosecute Trump one of her biggest priorities.

Federal Judge Strikes Down California’s Assault Weapons Ban AGAIN

(Headline USA) A federal judge struck down California’s assault-weapons ban this week as unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Roger T. Benitez ruled on Thursday that the ban, implemented three decades ago, violates the Second Amendment right to bear arms.

“The State of California posits that its ‘assault weapon’ ban, the law challenged here, promotes an important public interest of disarming some mass shooters even though it makes criminals of law-abiding residents who insist on acquiring these firearms for self-defense,” Benitez wrote. “Nevertheless, more than that is required to uphold a ban.”

Benitez added: “California’s answer to the criminal misuse of a few is to disarm its many good residents. That knee-jerk reaction is constitutionally untenable, just as it was 250 years ago.”

This is the second time he’s struck down the law. He made a similar ruling in 2021, calling the assault weapons ban a “failed experiment.”

That decision was ultimately abandoned by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

California officials announced after Benitez’s decision that they planned to appeal to the Ninth Circuit again. But this time, new precedent from the Supreme Court upholding Second Amendment rights might guarantee that Benitez’s decision sticks.

Under the Supreme Court decision, firearm restrictions must be “consistent with this Nation’s historical tradition” to comply with Second Amendment protections.

Still, the decision was a “direct insult to every victim of a mass shooting and their families,” Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom complained.

“Californians’ elected representatives decided almost 35 years ago that weapons of war have no place in our communities,” he said in a statement. “Today, Judge Benitez decided that he knows better, public safety be damned.”

Benitez has repeatedly struck down California’s gun control policies. Just last month, he ruled that the state cannot ban gun owners from having detachable magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, again citing the Supreme Court.

N.H. Gov. Slams Biden Admin for Immigration Crisis at Northern Border

(Headline USA) New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu blasted the Biden administration this week over the border crisis, pointing out that illegal immigrants are exploiting the U.S.’s northern border as well.

Sununu announced on Thursday that he will use $1.4 million in funding from the state’s current budget to boost patrols by state and local law enforcement along New Hampshire’s border with Canada.

While he conceded that the crisis at the southern border is far more dire, “there have been more apprehensions along our northern border in just this past year than in the last 10 years combined,” Sununu noted.

“Encounters with individuals on the terrorist watch list at the ports of entry on the northern border have doubled since 2017,” he added. “There’s national security implications to securing the northern border that are becoming more and more obvious every day.”

Along with state attorney general John Formella, “it is made very clear to us” that law enforcement officials along the border “need more targeted resources. We need to provide an all hands-on-deck approach,” Sununu said.

“We asked the federal government for help. We’ve been denied,” he said of the Biden administration. “There’s nothing that’s come from the federal government. No additional efforts out of the federal government.”

Left-wing activist Sebastian Fuentes, who serves as the political director for Rights & Democracy NH, claimed concern about illegal immigration across the northern border is “manufactured” and “a political stunt.”

Sununu, however, dismissed the criticism.

“I laugh at anyone who tries to criticize us when we’re the only ones actually doing anything and taking the issue seriously,” he said.

According to border officials, there were 7,633 encounters with illegal immigrants across the northern border through the end of July this fiscal year. In FY 2022, there were 2,238, and 916 in all of FY 2021.

Google News Lays Off Dozens of Its Employees

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Google’s news division fired dozens of its employees, as the Big Tech giant continues to downsize during the economically troubling times for the country.

A spokesperson for the Alphabet Workers Union said that between 40 and 45 employees at Google News were laid off, according to the New York Post.

The news source also added that the search engine that is owned by Alphabet also slashed headcount at Verily, the health care analytics subsidiary, as well as Waymo, the robot-taxi unit. However, it wasn’t clear how many people were fired from Verily and Waymo.

The job cuts that came just before the company is set to release its third-quarter earnings results on Oct. 24, 2023, caused employees of the company to start asking whether additional layoffs could be in the offing.

The company still employs hundreds in its news division, a spokesperson for Google said.

“We’re deeply committed to a vibrant information ecosystem, and news is a part of that long-term investment. We’ve made some internal changes to streamline our organization. A small number of employees were impacted. We’re supporting everyone with a transition period, outplacement services and severance as they look for new opportunities at Google and beyond,” the spokesperson said.

Google News is the search engine’s news aggregator that mines stories from thousands of publishers all over the internet, which means that articles that are listed on Google News provide valuable referral traffic to news sources.

Considering the politically leftist bias of the company and the fact that the search engine has a history of blacklisting conservative news websites, it means that people who were using Google News were not being fed with articles from conservative news sources.

Rob Ruenes, a staff software engineer at Google, commented on layoffs in his message on his LinkedIn page.

“These are some of the best and brightest people I’ve ever worked with, and frankly, I don’t expect the calculus behind this decision will ever make sense to me. We’re definitely worse off without them,” he wrote.

Pro-Hamas Congressional Staffers Pen Anonymous Letter Demanding Ceasefire

(Headline USA) An anonymous letter purporting to be from more than 400 Capitol Hill staffers called on members of Congress to demand a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to Politico.

“Millions of lives hang in the balance, including the 2.3 million civilians—half of whom are children—in Gaza, civilians in Israel, and Jews and Muslims around the world,” the letter said.

The signatories, who identified themselves as Jewish and Muslim staffers, said they were keeping their names anonymous due to fear of backlash.

They said that while they appreciate Congress’s condemnation of Hamas’s attack against Israel, they want to see equal support for Gaza and Palestinians.

“We have appreciated seeing nearly every Member of Congress express quick and unequivocal solidarity with the Israeli people, but we are profoundly disturbed that such shows of humanity have barely been extended to the Palestinian people,” the letter said.

“Only a fraction have called for a ceasefire or at least cessation of hostilities,” it continued. “We believe that Palestinian civilians deserve to be remembered, mourned, and defended with the same rigor that Jewish Israelis deserve from the U.S. Congress.”

Only the most radical Democrats in Congress, including “Squad” Reps. Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez, D-N.Y.; Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.; and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., have called on the Biden administration to demand a ceasefire.

The White House has rebuffed their demands so far, with President Joe Biden declaring that the U.S. stands in solidarity with Israel as it fights against Hamas.

Biden also announced a $100 million humanitarian aid package to the West Bank and Gaza, despite admitting that the money may be seized by Hamas.

The Capitol Hill staffers acknowledged the aid package, but demanded more.

“As Muslims, Jews, and allies, we believe that denying these basic resources violates the tenets of our faiths, values, and our humanity,” said the letter.

Hamas Frees 2 U.S. Hostages at Price Tag of $50M Apiece

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Hamas released an American mother and daughter from captivity after taking them hostage from the kibbutz they visited earlier this month.

Judith Raanan and her 17-year-old daughter, Natalie, were freed following the intervention of the Qatari government, bringing an end to their harrowing weeks-long ordeal at the hands of the Hamas terrorists. The captors had stormed southern Israel on Oct. 17, as confirmed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu via Twitter on Friday.

“This evening, Judith Tai Raanan and her daughter Natalie Shoshana Raanan were released by the terrorist organization Hamas,” the prime minister said. “The two were kidnapped by the organization during the murderous surprise attack on Saturday, October 7, 2023, while they were staying in Kibbutz Nahal Oz as house guests.”

Coinciding with their release, the U.S. and Israeli governments greenlit the transfer of $100 million in aid to the Gaza Strip. The Red Cross facilitated the transfer of the two Americans from Hamas-controlled Gaza to Israel.

President Joe Biden extended on Friday his support to the victims in response to the release. “I just spoke with the two Americans released today after being held hostage by Hamas. I let them know that their government will fully support them as they recover and heal,” he said on Twitter. “Jill and I will continue holding close in our hearts all the families of unaccounted for Americans.”

According to the Times of Israel, a Hamas spokesperson for Hamas claimed the release was motivated by “humanitarian reasons” and to “prove to the American people and the world that the claims made by Biden and his fascist administration are false and baseless.”

Raanan’s brother, in a statement to CNN, expressed hope for her imminent return.

“We have heard tentatively that she might be coming back to Chicago sometime early next week,” he disclosed, according to the New York Post. “This all moved so quickly, I was getting texts from reporters I met with saying this happened… I believe it’s because the government didn’t want to call us before it had been confirmed.”

Meet the Next Candidates for House Speaker

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) In the wake of the removal of House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, as the speaker designee, the race for the next House speaker has intensified, with several notable names emerging as potential contenders

As reported by Politico on Friday, among the key figures vying for the coveted position are Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., Budget Committee Chair Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, Republican Study Committee Chair Kevin Hern, R-Okla., and several others including Reps. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., Austin Scott, R-Ga., Jack Bergman, R-Mich. and Byron Donalds, R-Fla.

The spotlight has particularly shone on Emmer, who was considered a potential successor to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. However, the field remains open as more announcements are expected before the Monday deadline.

The turmoil began when Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., accused McCarthy of a backstabbing approach in negotiations with President Joe Biden and Senate Democrats, resulting in a continuing resolution that failed to address Republican priorities.

The path to victory remains uncertain for all contenders, as none of the candidates have secured the 217 votes needed for the nomination. Even House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., failed to garner sufficient support, opening the door for Jordan to run. Ultimately, Scalise allegedly refused to publicly endorse Jordan, delivering a fatal blow to Jordan’s bid.

Commenting on the intensity of the race, Rep. Nick LaLota, R-N.Y., expressed skepticism at the unpreparedness of the races.

“It’s probably impossible to announce a campaign for speaker in just a couple of days,” LaLota said. “The process took [Kevin] McCarthy and [Nancy] Pelosi and many others months and years to build a confidence [among] members to get across the finish line. And to try to do so in a week, it’s pretty futile.”

Meanwhile, a potential coalition government between House Republicans and Democrats to empower Speaker pro tempore Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., looms as an alternative.

“It was pretty clear that we need to empower a speaker. And for whatever reason, this group didn’t feel that was something that they wanted to do,” said Rep. Dave Joyce, R-Ohio, who is leading the contentious effort. “So here we are.”

Elon Musk Removes NY Times’s Twitter Gold Verification Badge for Lying

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Elon Musk removed the New York Times’s gold verification badge on Twitter after the constant lies of the leftist propaganda outlet, among which was the recent anti-Israel coverage of the bombing of a hospital in Gaza.

Musk didn’t provide the official reason why he removed the badge, but his previous attitude toward the mainstream media and criticism of the Times for covering up anti-white racism and supporting the genocide of white people suggests that the publication’s badge was removed for its constant deception.

“[I]f ever there was a time to cancel that publication, it is now,” he wrote in one of his tweets.

After Musk bought Twitter, accounts of the legacy mainstream media outlets, like the Times, were granted the gold badge by the platform. The badge is a designation that separates official accounts from dozens or hundreds of imposters, according to Trending News.

After the news about a hospital in Gaza being bombed came out, the Times initially used an anti-Israel headline, accusing the country of the tragedy and using Palestinian sources. However, it was later discovered by U.S. intelligence arms that the explosion was caused by a misfired rocket by Hamas that initially wanted to target Israel. This revelation led the Times to change the headline of the article multiple times.

In addition to that, the Times misrepresented a photo of a semi-demolished building to be the location of the Gaza hospital — something that even CNN and the Wall Street Journal didn’t do, instead deciding to show the actual photos of the blast area showing what appeared to be a parking lot with trees nearby and without building debris.

Twitter also implemented a five-second delay on users’ access to Times articles through the platform, days after Musk called for the Times’ cancellation over the anti-white coverage of what was going on in South Africa.

This caused the Times’s traffic from Twitter to go down 50% since August, according to Trending Politics. The change was made to encourage users to stay on Twitter rather than click through to other sites, Musk said.

Biden’s Bizarre Chin Fuels Speculation That He’s Wearing a Mask

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden appeared in public with his face looking floppier than usual, fueling speculation that he may be wearing a mask in public, NewsWars reported.

In a recent video, while visiting Israel, Biden could be seen stumbling through a speech with his skin flailing about.

The bizarre event caused some to question whether or not viewers were seeing his real face.

One Twitter user, political pundit and columnist Brian Cates, suggested that the heat of the room was causing the Biden mask to sag.

“They’ve been pretty good up until now making sure he never spends too long in a hot room so the mask will start coming off of his chin,” he tweeted.

“Here the mask is starting to coming loose, it is visible and you can see the bulging in the chin area,” he added.

While it is perfectly possible that the president’s chin is changing shape as he ages, many suggested that it could be one of the CIA’s high tech masks that reportedly cannot be detected by the naked eye.

Others brought up past evidence that would also suggest that the president was using some sort of covering to hide his true appearance.

The online speculation tracks with previous theories that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., are lizard people. The theory exploded after the two appeared together in a bizarre press conference following a January 2019 speech by then-President Donald Trump.

Biden’s strange appearance was not the only notable part of his recent trip. The president also rambled on incoherently about mass shootings.

“Virtually every mass shooting, every circumstance, where a large number of people have been victimized and lost, I spoke to them… I learned a long time ago, but you all learned in your life as well,” Biden said, grabbing his chin and speaking very slowly.

“When someone’s going through something that is beyond their comprehension that they never thought they’d have to go through, if they see someone who they think understands who went through something not the same but similar, it gives them some sense of hope,” he added.

SELLERS: It’s Time to Wake Up to Reality of Israel’s War w/ Hamas

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) In some perverse way, the lines above, from Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s “The Lotos-Eaters,” capture the past two weeks of the news cycle, ever since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel rattled the world and led us sleepwalking blindly into a perilous alternate reality from which we now must awaken before it’s too late.

For those who did not have my freshman English class, or who may have studied and long forgotten the poem, it references a famous scene from Homer’s The Odyssey. On their epic voyage back to Ithaca, the Greek sailors land on an island with plants whose opiate-like qualities make them want to disengage from reality and withdraw from the world altogether.

Let us alone. What pleasure can we have
To war with evil? Is there any peace
In ever climbing up the climbing wave?

Of course, there is a dark and sinister undercurrent to this defeatist mindset—the same one present at the end of George Orwell’s 1984, when the protagonist, Winston, finally submits to Big Brother.

That is not to say that it was easy or pleasurable to watch the heart-rending scenes coming from Israel, of course. It was, indeed, deeply haunting and emotionally devastating.

And yet, for a fleeting moment, it seductively dangled a sense of unambiguous moral clarity—like digging through a musty, old trunk and finding a childhood security blanket (or perhaps a Snuggie) from the George W. Bush era.

To muse and brood and live again in memory,
With those old faces of our infancy
Heap’d over with a mound of grass,
Two handfuls of white dust, shut in an urn of brass!

Just three days after a bombshell Newsweek report revealed that Merrick Garland’s FBI had taken the unprecedented step of designating Trump supporters as a special category of terrorist unto themselves, conservative supporters of Israel suddenly found themselves back on the “right side” of history and foisted into the good graces of the globalist masters.

Suddenly, the villains were the Hamas-supporting Squad members, Black Lives Matter and woke university students. Seeing them get a dose of their own ESG medicine (and squirm as their more mainstream liberal enablers jumped ship) felt damn good.

Surely, surely, slumber is more sweet than toil, the shore
Than labour in the deep mid-ocean, wind and wave and oar;
O, rest ye, brother mariners, we will not wander more.

It was good for business, as well. The sensationalist storylines helped to boost traffic considerably, and using the #Hamas hashtag on Twitter garnered my posts–which normally catch the eyes of followers somewhere in the single digits—an audience that reached well into the triple digits.

If it felt a little bit exploitative, there also was an equal sense that the grim images depicting human suffering and degradation, often in their final mortal moments, were of the utmost importance so that the story not be suppressed or distorted. And having spent many years teaching Elie Wiesel’s Holocaust account, Night, I stand by my belief that mankind must not shy away from confronting such atrocities.

Yet, therein lies the particular challenge of balancing one’s empathy with reason in order to avoid being manipulated by the fervor of the moment.

The old adage “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” likely does not apply if your enemy’s enemies (i.e. the U.S. government and the Davoisie) also have you on their “terrorism watch list.”

BLOWING UP THE NARRATIVE

It was an internal discussion in our Headline USA newsroom about the apparent hoax surrounding an alleged missile strike on a Gaza hospital Tuesday that helped to bring me out of my poppy-like stupor.

Unlike many of the mainstream media sites, we did not, of course, get taken in by the first round of propaganda, in which the Hamas-run hospital claimed that Israeli forces had killed some 500 individuals.

Our focus came in covering the second iteration, following the Israeli military reports that it was the terrorists themselves who had fired the missile, killing a couple hundred people.

Only then did evidence online begin to suggest, however, that the errant missile—if there even was one—may, in fact, have hit a parking lot, and that the hospital in question was still standing.

Moving forward, we will continue to support Israel’s right to defend itself in principle, as we have Ukraine’s.

However, as we also have done in applying skepticism with our coverage of the Ukraine conflict, we must now begin to raise serious questions that extend beyond Israel’s entirely valid reason for wanting to obliterate Hamas.

President Joe Biden’s Thursday night address—in which he conflated Israeli aid and U.S. border security with the Ukrainian boondoggle, where there is good reason to suspect money laundering and other corruption are involved—underscored the importance of not letting one’s guard down at such a critical time.

In fact, the cynic in me is tempted to ask—as former Obama mentor Larry Tribe did of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the morning of Oct. 7—if this entire operation might not be Biden’s “wag the dog” attempt at distracting from the catastrophic fiasco of a legacy his term in office has been.

Might the $6 billion in bribe money he offered Iran, in return for an otherwise equal hostage swap, have amounted to a sort of quid pro quo with the understanding that the ayatollah would create for Biden a giant foreign-policy diversion, in order to push his impeachment, special counsel investigation and other scandals/gaffes out of the headlines?

A BRICS S**T-STORM

It isn’t necessary to fully comprehend the Biden administration’s underlying motives for what it now projects may be a three-front war to know that something is amiss.

Were the U.S. to get roped into a ground war with Iran and its allies, as seems highly plausible, that could potentially escalate tensions with nuclear-capable nations like Russia and China.

In addition to Iran, neighboring Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are also due in January to join the two rival superpowers as part of the BRICS alliance, which will give it considerable influence over the world’s energy reserves, not to mention a strong anti-Western tilt in the Middle East.

Even if Israel and the U.S had the purest and best of intentions, that would spell out terrible foresight on their part by uniting a formidable force against them that is eager to wipe Israel off the map and then turn its attention to “decolonizing” what remains of America’s global influence.

But let’s face it, there is no reason to trust either Mossad or the Biden CIA—both of which have proven track records of bald-faced lies and extralegal conduct that may well make Hamas’s sex-starved necrophiliac horndogs and baby beheaders look like choirboys.

The biggest difference may be that Hamas terrorists don’t wage sophisticated psy-op campaigns on the people they are supposed to be looking out for.

There is confusion worse than death,
Trouble on trouble, pain on pain,
Long labour unto aged breath,
Sore task to hearts worn out by many wars
And eyes grown dim with gazing on the pilot-stars.

A BEACON OF HOPE?

Thus, once more, we find ourselves adrift with little guidling light in a world full of shadows and nothing to lead us but our own moral compasses.

Yet, as often has been the case, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has proven to be one of the few truth-speakers, and joining him in that effort is presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who has used a two-part interview with Carlson to flex his foreign policy muscle.

The two drew criticism—most notably from staunch Israel supporter Ben Shapiro—after the first interview appeared to diminish the Hamas massacre by painting a false equivalence between that and the fentanyl epidemic in America.

I will grant the Daily Wire chief that point: The barbaric war crimes and human-rights abuses of Oct. 7 simply cannot be aggregated into some sort of statistical data set for a risk–benefit analysis. There is a moral imperative to condemn Hamas in the strongest of terms and to support Israel unequivocally in its mission, without getting in the way or allowing others to do so.

Carlson and Ramaswamy were able to refine their argument in the second installment and more artfully articulate their point that extending support to Israel is not the same thing as empowering the U.S. deep state to run wild and use a war between two foreign entities to further violate American civil liberties or jeopardize its interests.

Let’s just hope the treacherous journey that lies ahead for America is nothing like that of Odysseus and his crew.

If so, the lotos-eaters were just the beginning of a 10-year ordeal before he would find his way home with what few men remained—and spend the rest of his days in peace and tranquility, lamenting how bored he was, according to Tennyson.
