Nothing to See: Ukraine Minister Arrested for Multimillion-Dollar Scheme

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A high-level minister of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government has been arrested over his alleged role in a multi-million-dollar scheme to seize government-owned land.

Agriculture Minister Mykola Solskyi, responsible for overseeing Ukraine’s expansive agricultural sector, submitted his resignation on Thursday following the damning accusations leveled against him by prosecutors earlier in the week — according to Politico’s European edition.

According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Solskyi allegedly led a scheme involving the illegal acquisition of state-owned land valued at $7,331,093 (291 million hryvnias), with additional attempts to seize an additional $4,786,624 (190 million hryvnias) worth of land.

The alleged illegal plot involved illegal payments to local government officials in exchange for the transfer of government-owned land deeds to private entities and individuals. The land in question was never legitimately up for sale.

Prosecutors assert that these illicit activities occurred between 2017 and 2021 before Solskyi was tapped to head the agriculture ministry, but during his election to the Parliament.

Solskyi submitted his resignation to the head of the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, responsible for the oversight of cabinet ministries.

Ukraine operates under a semi-presidential system, with Zelenskyy serving as head of state and cabinet appointments made by the Verkhovna Rada.

“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received a statement from Mykola Solsky about his resignation from the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine,” stated Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Parliament, in a translated Facebook post.

He added that “the application will be considered at one of the nearest plenary meetings.”

Despite the charges, Solskyi was released on $1,907,091 bail (75.7 million hryvnas) by the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine, the legal entity presiding over the case.

According to Politico, Solskyi intends to maintain his role as agriculture minister. He was elected to Parliament in 2019 before being appointed minister in March 2022.

This scandal unfolds against the backdrop of opposition from America First Republicans to Democrat-led multi-billion-dollar funding for Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression. Among the concerns cited by Republicans are Ukraine’s widespread corruption issues.

Headline USA contacted Zelenskyy’s press office seeking comments on whether he intends to urge the agriculture minister’s resignation. Neither the Ukrainian government’s press office nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately replied to Headline USA’s emails.

Clarence Thomas Asks If Jack Smith’s Appointment Is Illegal

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Does Special Counsel Jack Smith lack the authority to bring criminal charges against former President Donald Trump? This pivotal question surfaced during a Supreme Court hearing on Thursday, initiated by Justice Clarence Thomas.

The Supreme Court met to hear the arguments presented by Trump’s legal team and the DOJ regarding whether the former president enjoys immunity from prosecution for actions performed in their official capacity as commanders-in-chief.

As reported by Fox News on Saturday, Thomas questioned Trump’s attorney John Sauer whether the former president disputed the legitimacy of Smith’s appointment as special counsel—a contention first raised by some legal scholars.

While Sauer acknowledged that the defense had not “directly” raised this issue in the current court proceedings, he pointed to its consideration in the “Southern District of Florida case,” specifically referring to the Mar-a-Lago documents battle.

“We totally agree with the analysis provided by Attorney General [Edwin] Meese [III] and Attorney General [Michael] Mukasey,” Sauser affirmed to Thomas, citing the legal framework proposed by the two former Republican AGs that could undermine Smith’s legal endeavors.

Sauser emphasized that the legal analysis “points a very important issue here because one of their arguments is … that we should have this presumption of regularity that runs into the reality that we have here an extraordinary prosecutorial power being exerted by someone who was never nominated by the president or confirmed by the Senate at any time.”

Thomas’s inquiries likely stemmed from the 42-page amicus brief filed by Meese and Mukasey, which suggested that Smith—who was appointed by Democratic Attorney General Merrick Garland—lacked the requisite authority to prosecute Trump, having never received Senate confirmation.

“Although this case raises a weighty issue of presidential immunity, it also necessarily raises a preliminary question, i.e., whether Jack Smith actually has authority to prosecute this case all. He does not,” the former Republican attorneys general wrote.

“Those actions can be taken only by persons properly appointed as federal officers to properly created federal offices. But neither Smith nor the position of Special Counsel under which he purportedly acts meets those criteria,” they added.

Meese and Mukasey underscored that neither Smith nor any of his associates had received Senate appointments, not even in past stings.

“He wields tremendous power, effectively answerable to no one, by design. And that is a serious problem for the rule of law—whatever one may think of former President Trump or the conduct on January 6, 2021, that Smith challenges in the underlying case,” they added.

Smith served as acting U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee from March 2017 to September 2017, following Trump’s request for the resignation of Smith’s superior, Donald Q. Cochran.

Fox News reported that after Trump’s selection of Cochran’s successor, Smith resigned from his acting role. Acting positions typically do not require Senate confirmation.

Garland appointed Smith to oversee the investigation into Trump concerning purportedly missing documents and the former president’s challenges to the results of the January 6 presidential election. Trump contends that the latter actions are protected by presidential immunity.

Trump has consistently criticized Smith, characterizing him as a cog in a broader scheme aimed at impeding his presidential ambitions.

N.Y. DA Berates Cop over Speeding Stop, Igniting Condemnation

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A New York district attorney is under intense scrutiny after the release of bodycam footage showing her berating a police officer who attempted to pull her over for speeding unsuccessfully.

The six-minute video footage captures Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley’s standoffish attitude toward a cop who pursued her home after she failed to comply with a traffic stop on Monday.

“I’m the DA. I was going to 55 coming home from work,” Doorley asserted from her garage, as seen in the viral video.

“55 in a 35!” the officer retorted, reminding her of the speed limit.

“I don’t really care,” Doorley snapped back. “You can call Dennis Kohlmeier right now,” she added, referring to the Wester police chief.

In the video, Doorley, visibly agitated, declared, “I know the law better than you.”

“What is it you’re so against me? I’m doing my job. You say you’re a DA?” the officer questioned.

“I am THE DA,” Doorley declared defiantly, before hastily retrieving her badge from her car.

In response to accusations of attempting to evade consequences, Doorley defended her actions, asserting that she contacted the police chief “to inform him that I was not a threat and that I would speak to the Officer at my house down the street.”

As seen in the footage, she conversed on the phone, likely with Kohlmeier, asking, “Can you please tell him to leave me alone.”

Despite the officer’s request for her to stay, Doorley refused, stating, “No, I’m not staying over here.”

In light of the controversial exchange, the Rochester City Council urged Attorney General Letitia James to initiate an investigation into Doorley’s behavior during the failed traffic stop, reported local news outlet 9WSYR.

“Recent body camera footage, shared by the Webster Police Department, has raised significant concerns regarding Ms. Doorley’s behavior during a traffic stop in Webster,” the council conveyed in a letter to James, questioning her fitness as district attorney.

Initially elected as a Democrat in 2011 and later re-elected in 2015 after switching to the Republican Party, Doorley is currently serving her fourth term, according to the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper.

Calif. Legislators Advance Bill to Limit ‘Influential’ Anonymous Online Speech

(Kenneth Schrupp, The Center Square) – California legislators nearly unanimously voted to limit “influential” anonymous online free speech by requiring social media companies to “seek to verify” personal information — including government-issued identification —  for “influential” accounts.

While supporters say users need help distinguishing between good and bad information, opposition warned the bill, without defining “seek to verify,” threatens anonymous online speech.

With the bill applying to companies with at least one million annual California users, it would affect major social media companies worldwide.

Under SB 1228, by State Sen. Steve Padilla, D-Chula Vista, social media companies would be required to “seek to verify” the personal information of “influential” users, including seeking government-issued identification from “highly influential users.” Influential users who do not comply would have a “notation” on their content for two seconds showing the user is unverified showing the rest of a post, after which the notation would still be visible.

“The average person does not have convenient tools at the moment to distinguish between content produced by a reputable news source or AI generated misinformation,” said Padilla at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for the bill. “Numerous studies have shown that online anonymity results in increased unconstrained postings.”

“Influential” users would need to submit their name, telephone number, and email address if they have 15,000 or more followers, or more than 50,000 views within a week, or rank in the top 6% of platform views within a week. “Highly influential” users would need to submit government-issued identification if they have 30,000 or more followers, or more than 100,000 views within a week, or rank in the top 3% of  views within a week.

Bill supporters clarified the bill would not ban anonymous online speech.

“It does not require platforms to force users to verify their identity, and it does not prevent users from using pseudonyms or no name at all when they are engaging in online speech,” said Mariko Yoshihara of the California Initiative for Technology & Democracy, to the committee. “This bill simply requires platforms to seek to verify the identity of users once they have reached a certain threshold that we have identified as influential.”

Opposition to the bill focused on the historical American importance of anonymous speech, and the danger a lack of clarity on “seek to verify” poses, as companies that fail to “seek to verify” influential users would face lawsuits from state or local government attorneys for “injunctive or other equitable relief.”

“It is unclear what constitutes satisfying the bill’s requirement to seek to verify influential users,” said Khara Boender of the Computer & Communications Industry Association to the committee. “These users may be speaking about sensitive topics, represent dissident opinions under oppressive regimes, or be part of a marginalized community, among other reasons. Anonymous speech is a long held value and tradition in the United States dating back to the Federalist Papers. Protecting anonymity of online speech carries forward such traditions and protections to allow for open and free expression.”

The bill moved forward to the Senate Appropriations Committee nearly unanimously, save for a lone “no” from State Sen. Roger Niello, R-Fair Oaks.

Operation Lone Star Officers Apprehend More Human Smugglers

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – Texas Department of Public Safety officers working in Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security mission, Operation Lone Star, continue to apprehend human smugglers at the border.

Smugglers are being apprehended multiple ways, by DPS brush teams and by troopers performing traffic stops and vehicle inspections. Nearly all offenders are military aged men who also seek to evade capture, authorities say.

In Brownsville, a DPS brush team arrested a 17-year-old male smuggling guide who DPS said was responsible for leading several foreign nationals across the Rio Grande River from Mexico to illegally enter Texas between ports of entry. DPS troopers and drone operators found him hiding inside a shed at the border.

DPS charged Luis Alberto Torres, from Matamoros, Mexico, with felony human smuggling and he was transported to the Cameron County jail.

In a separate three-day operation, a DPS brush team in the Rio Grande Valley arrested seven human smuggling foot guides, all Mexican nationals. Also in a separate operation, they arrested another Mexican citizen, Gabriel Gutierrez-Perez, after he was seen being picked up by a human smuggler while crossing the Rio Grande River on a jet ski. DPS later discovered that he was wanted in Florida for allegations of sexual assault on a child, child molestation, and sexual battery on a child. He also had a full extradition warrant.

In traffic stops, DPS officers apprehended smugglers who were both foreign nationals and U.S. citizens heading north from the border after picking up people who’d illegally entered between ports of entry.

In Webb County, a DPS officer stopped a driver of a Lincoln Navigator heading north on I-35 from Laredo to San Antonio. As soon as the driver pulled over, multiple Mexican nationals bailed out of the vehicle and ran toward the brush.

The driver, from Laredo, was arrested and charged with smuggling of persons. DPS troopers apprehended and referred seven Mexican nationals to Border Patrol.

During a traffic stop in Webb County, multiple illegal immigrants, from Mexico, bailed out of a Lincoln Navigator and ran toward the brush.

The driver, from Laredo, was arrested and charged with smuggling of persons. DPS Troopers apprehended and referred seven illegal immigrants to Border Patrol.

In La Salle County, DPS troopers foiled another human smuggling attempt, apprehending 23 illegal foreign nationals.

DPS engaged in pursuit on I-35 north to San Antonio after a driver of a truck tractor towing a flatbed trailer failed to stop for a commercial vehicle safety inspection. The driver ultimately pulled over, jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the brush.

DPS troopers, joined by La Salle County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Border Patrol agents, found 23 illegal foreign nationals hiding in the floor of the flatbed trailer without proper ventilation. They included 15 men, six women and two juveniles who illegally entered the country from Mexico. They are citizens of Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala, DPS says. One individual was treated for dehydration and transported to a local hospital. All 23 illegally in the country were referred to Border Patrol.

DPS Troopers were led on a short pursuit after the driver of a white-truck tractor towing a flatbed trailer failed to stop for a DPS commercial vehicle safety inspection in La Salle County. The driver finally stopped and fled the vehicle on foot. DPS Troopers and law enforcement agency partners then discovered 23 illegal immigrants concealed in the floor of the vehicle’s flatbed trailer without proper ventilation.

The group of illegal immigrants included 15 males, six females and two juveniles from Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. One illegal immigrant was treated for dehydration and transported to a local hospital. All 23 were referred to Border Patrol.

In Vale Verde County, while conducting a traffic stop, a DPS trooper observed multiple people crammed in the rear area of a Chevrolet Tahoe.

When asked what the driver, Amy Nicole Martinez from San Angelo, was doing 160 miles south from her home, she said she “came down to visit.” She also appeared to not know where she was, saying she was “in Del Rio, El Paso,” which are over 425 miles apart. The trooper ascertained she had been in Eagle Pass, in Maverick County, two counties south from Val Verde County where she was pulled over.

After getting out of the vehicle, the front seat passenger, Jaron Markeis Daniels from Dallas, ran toward a local neighborhood. He was pursued on foot by another DPS officer and apprehended.

Others in the vehicle also bailed out and were apprehended, including one that ran into oncoming traffic.

Martinez was charged with five counts of smuggling of persons. Daniels was charged with five counts of smuggling of persons, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.

Four illegal foreign nationals were referred to U.S. Border Patrol. One, a Mexican national, Jesus Aguilar-Aguilar, was charged with evading arrest, assault on a public servant, and resisting arrest after he briefly struggled with a trooper.

Biden Calls Economy ‘Strong’ Despite Poor GDP Growth

(Casey Harper, The Center Square) – President Joe Biden on Thursday defended newly released economic growth numbers that fell way short of economists’ expectations.

Federal data shows the U.S. Gross Domestic Product grew at an annual rate of 1.6% in the first three months of this year, down from 3.4% in the previous quarter.

The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis released the data, which came in well below expectations, raised concerns about the near future of the economy, and sent the stock market downward Thursday morning.

“The big inventory buildup in the third quarter of last year continues being drawn down, which is reducing GDP – in other words, previous economic ‘growth’ was essentially just a transfer of future positive numbers pulled forward to an earlier time period,” E.J. Antoni, an economist at the Heritage Foundation, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the data was released.

After the BEA numbers came out, Biden released a statement on Thursday calling the economy “strong.”

“Today’s report shows the American economy remains strong, with continued steady and stable growth,” Biden said.

He went on to point to the economic recovery since COVID-19 era shutdowns killed jobs and economic growth.

“The economy has grown more since I took office than at this point in any presidential term in the last 25 years – including 3% growth over the last year – while unemployment has stayed below 4% for more than two years,” Biden said.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the GDP numbers Thursday morning to reporters waiting outside of his court appearance.

“…the GDP just announced is all the way down to 1.6% and it’s heading south,” Trump told reporters, as shown on Fox News. “It’s going to get worse … gasoline is going way up. Energy costs are going way up, and the stock market is in a sense, crashing. This is Bidenomics. It’s catching up with him.”

Notably, BEA data showed Americans’ savings accounts diminished in the first three months of this year.

“Personal saving was $755.7 billion in the first quarter, compared with $815.5 billion in the fourth quarter,” BEA said. “The personal saving rate – personal saving as a percentage of disposable personal income – was 3.6 percent in the first quarter, compared with 4.0 percent in the fourth quarter.”

California Border Fentanyl Seizures Double as Texas Strengthens Border

(Kenneth Schrupp, The Center Square) – California seized over one million fentanyl pills just last week, more than was seized in all of February, highlighting how much smuggling of drugs and illegal immigrants has shifted to California since Texas strengthened its border.

In September, California Governor Gavin Newsom increased the California National Guard’s San Diego border region presence from 40 to 60 soldiers for narcotics operations.

“We are doing our job to keep illegal drugs off the streets of California,” Newsom said in a statement. “By working with our state, local and federal partners, we are continuing to crack down on drug trafficking in our communities.”

A California bill to strip sanctuary state protections from fentanyl dealers failed in committee two weeks ago amid strong Democratic opposition. The bill’s author said law enforcement is significantly hampered from following through on drug trafficking investigations regarding illegal immigrants due to the state’s sanctuary state protections limiting federal and local law enforcement interactions regarding illegal immigrant criminal suspects.

According to exclusive interviews with The Center Square, Operation Lone Star — Texas’s effort to, with limited federal assistance, defend its border against drug smuggling and human trafficking is so successful that illegal entry is moving westward to California, Arizona, and New Mexico.

The goal of OLS is for “all of us to come together and get them out of our counties and Texas. Our overall goal is to deny the ability of the transnational criminal organization from making a profit so that they’ll go to New Mexico” and further west said Goliad County Sheriff Roy Boyd to The Center Square.

The efforts appear to be working, with seizures in Arizona and California on the rise. Last year, California seized enough fentanyl to kill the world “nearly twice over.”

More than 1.7 million individuals illegally entered the United States in the last six months, a record number. While Texas border crossings have plummeted to Trump-era levels, record crossings in Democrat-run California, Arizona, and New Mexico are more than offsetting the Texas decrease.

California provides perhaps the most generous benefits to illegal immigrants, which include access to taxpayer-funded Medi-Cal. Across all three states, illegal immigrants — especially asylum seekers —  qualify for cash assistance and other educational, health, and aid programs.

MURDOCK: Merchan Should Be Benched over Anti-Trump Conflicts

(Deroy Murdock, Headline USA) “THIS SCAM ‘RUSHED’ TRIAL IS BEING PRESIDED OVER BY POSSIBLY THE MOST CONFLICTED JUDGE IN JUDICIAL HISTORY,” President Donald J. Trump declared with characteristic understatement via Truth Social.

Trump added that Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan “MUST BE REMOVED FROM THIS HOAX IMMEDIATELY.”

Whether Merchan is “the most conflicted judge” ever is debatable. However, he surely belongs in the Conflicted Jurist Hall of Fame.

In fact, Merchan is awash in conflicts of interest in Trump’s “hush money” trial.

First, the judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, is a Democrat Party activist. Before her LinkedIn page went private, it listed her as director of digital persuasion for the Kamala Harris for the People campaign in 2019.

Loren Merchan has been president of Authentic Campaigns, a digital-marketing and communications operation whose clients include left-wing causes and Democrat governors, congressmen, senators, and presidential candidates. The company’s website invokes Trump’s name to generate new business.

  • “Unlike Kari Lake, who shamelessly pandered to Donald Trump and embraced dangerous and divisive rhetoric, Katie Hobbs is committed to putting sanity over chaos,” Authentic’s website states, “ultimately leading to her historic victory in the Arizona Governor race.”
Immigrant Justice Fund
Authentic Campaigns ad
  • Authentic’s fundraising ad for the Immigrant Justice Fund complains that “Extreme MAGA Republican Trump sidekick, Kari Lake, just launched her run for the U.S. Senate in the crucial swing state of Arizona.”
  • “In the end,” Authentic crows, “Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump and won many of the swing states we were hired to support the campaign in…”

Trump’s attorneys estimate that Authentic has scored $18 million from its clients since April 2023, when hard-left Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted Trump.

Under New York State’s Judiciary Law Article 2 § 14, Merchan, Loren’s first-degree blood relative, should recuse himself since “he is related by consanguinity or affinity to any party to the controversy within the sixth degree.”

Second, even if this law included an “I don’t discuss business with my daughter” clause, Merchan is a Democrat donor. According to CNN, Merchan contributed $15 earmarked for Biden’s campaign and $10 each to the Progressive Turnout Project and its Stop Republicans PAC.

“$35?” Trump haters laugh. “You call that a donation?”

Well, visualize Hillary Clinton finally on trial for her countless crimes. Imagine that her judge donated $15 to Trump 2016 and $10 each to the Conservative Turnout Project and Stop Democrats.

Trump haters would stop laughing.

Third, unlike federal judicial assignments, the chief administrative judge picked Merchan for Trump’s trial, due to his supervision of other Trump-related cases. This needlessly deepens suspicions.

“There was not a random selection of a judge in this case, and there should have been,” former Manhattan assistant district attorney Christopher Brennan told the Wall Street Journal. “He actually should be the last person selected, given the potential conflict.”

Here’s how these conflicts could unfold:

  • “Once this rigged trial imprisons Trump,” Merchan smiles to himself, “Biden soars, Democrats rally, Loren makes millions, and I get my commission. Man, will this be a great Christmas!”
  • Merchan tries his damnedest to be fair, but a tiny voice whispers within him, “Don’t make life tough for Loren.” He shuns the thought. But late at night it returns, like the lightest of breezes: “Don’t make life tough for Loren.”
  • Aching to look impartial, Merchan overcompensates and grants Trump’s every request. Prosecutors soon doubt that they can get a fair trial. (The reality is exactly the reverse: Merchan has nixed Trump’s motions for the trial’s relocation from Democrat-packed Manhattan, ample notification of prosecution witnesses, and the First Amendment right to discuss this case unrestrained by gag orders.)
  • Merchan officiates with pristine evenhandedness. Still, the appearance of a conflict of interest causes half the country to consider this trial terminally rigged. Faith in American justice erodes even further.

Genuinely or apparently conflicted, Juan Merchan should yield to a judge who focuses strictly on the law, the evidence, the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Leftists Now View Swastikas as ‘Woke’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The Telegraph recently published a piece that explains how the far-left radicals abandoned intersectionality and adopted another “unifying” ideology that even makes swastikas good enough to be considered “woke.”

Ryan Zickgraf, the author of the commentary, called this new ideology “It’s All One Thingism,” implying that everything is connected as long as this thing would help destroy Western civilization.

“Palestine is every single issue in one issue. It’s reproductive justice. It’s social justice. It’s a climate crisis… It’s not just one issue. It’s all the issues in one,” Scarlett Rabe, a singer-songwriter who describes herself as an anti-racist mother and an abolition feminist/womanist, said.

Zickgraf also used the “Death to America” crowd and the “Fatties for a Free Palestine” movement as examples of the new ideology. “Transgenders” — the people who, despite them never being able to survive even one hour inside Gaza, still support Palestine and Hamas — were also included as an example of “It’s All One Thingism.”

“It’s narcissistic identity politics on steroids, one where specific conditions and geography melt away completely. It’s no longer enough to have solidarity with the people of Palestinians in their time of plight. You must be them. Are you fat, trans, and live in, say, Evanston, Illinois? You are somehow in a shared position with starved and bombed-out citizens of Gaza,” the author wrote.

Zickgraf then mentioned Malcolm Harris, a communist writer, who earlier this month responded to CNN’s Jake Tapper’s report that the Pennsylvania synagogue he had bar mitzphaed at had been vandalized with a swastika. Instead of denouncing the action, Harris indirectly praised the anti-Semitic graffiti, reversing the Nazi symbol from bad to good, “from a Nazi threat to a condemnation of genocide.”

“America is evil, Hamas is good and swastikas are now woke. This is your brain on All One Thingism,” he wrote.

Black High School Athletics Director Charged w/ Using AI Frame Principal for Racist Rant

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A black high school athletics director in Baltimore has been charged with using AI to make a fake recording of the school’s white principal going on a racist and anti-Jewish rant.

Dazhon Darien, 31, previously worked as the athletic director at Pikesville High School, while also being the target of a probe into the mishandling of school funds, the Daily Mail reported.

It was reported that Darien generated a fake audio recording of the school’s principal, Eric Eiswert, “spewing racial and anti-Semitic insults about staff and students.” The recording was posted on an Instagram account, the news source said.

“I seriously don’t understand why I have to constantly put up with these dumb a**** here every day. Between these ungrateful black kids who can’t test their way out of a paper bag or these teachers who don’t get it. How hard is it to get these students to meet their grade level expectations?” the fake Eiswert said.

The AI-generated voice of the principal then made a Jew-hating remark.

“And if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I’m going to join the other side,” the fake Eiswert said.

Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said his department worked with the FBI and forensic experts from the University of California, Berkeley to investigate the recording that started circulating online in January 2024.

After the investigation ended, McCullough confirmed that the recording was fake.

“Dazhon Darien, the school’s athletic director, produced the recording to retaliate against Principal Eiswert, who had initiated a probe into the mishandling of school funds,” he said.

Darien was arrested at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport on Apr. 25, 2024. He now faces charges of stalking, disruption of school operations and retaliation against a witness. The ex-athletics director is also currently being held in custody on a $5,000 bond.

“We believe that it is AI-generated. He did not say that. If I were in that position my heart would be a little broken today. He denounces [the comments in the recording] and he did not make those statements,” Billy Burke, the executive director of the union that represents Baltimore County administrators, said.
