It’s taken less than a day for New York City’s oppressive vaccine mandate, which shifted to full tyranny mode on Dec. 27, to traumatize a 5-year-old boy into tears at a restaurant after being ordered to produce his medical passport and, in a separate incident, led police to arrest patrons for trying to order food.
“You don’t have the card?” a NYPD officer told a family trying to enjoy a meal at a New York City restaurant. “If you don’t have it then you’ll have to leave.”
At which point several police officers surrounded the family’s table, reported Todd Starnes, and threatened the crying child with arrest for trespassing.
“If you leave voluntarily there will not be charges pressed against you, otherwise you will be arrested for trespass,” an officer said. “This is your only warning.”
“Scaring a child, traumatizing a child,” a bystander says. “I hope you feel good about yourself NYPD. This is disgusting. This is gross.”
“Is this what justice looks like to you?” a woman asks police.
That is the stark reality facing citizens, as cities across the country flex despotic government powers with increasingly malicious mask mandates and vicious vaccine dictums.
New York City, under Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio, has been one of the worst offenders with a mandate that requires all private-sector businesses, nearly 185,000, to track the vaccine status of employees and requires everyone aged 12 and up to show proof of vaccination for restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues, and children ages 5 to 11 to have proof of at least one COVID shot.
That was the kinder, gentler mandate; starting Dec. 27 that switched to include everyone aged 12 and older having to produce proof of full COVID vaccination: at least two shots of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, with the second having been given less than six months ago.
The updated mandate, which government officials dubbed “Key to NYC,” is not only making children literally break down in tears, it’s also already producing arrests. The vax protesting patrons at a Burger King in Brooklyn were hauled away in cuffs after failing to show the proper government papers proving they were fully vaccinated.

“This is not right, gentlemen,” one of the patrons told police officers, as a growing crowd chanted, “We, the people, will not comply.”

“This is the boldest action in the nation,” de Blasio said earlier this month, speaking of his own dictatorial mandate, not the bold action of citizens standing up for their rights.
“It is very, very consistent with what we’re dealing with right now because we have new threats, powerful new threats we have to answer,” de Blasio said of his mandate. “Omicron, this new variant, moves fast. We have to move faster.”
How long the overreaching mandate will last is uncertain, according to NBC New York, with de Blasio on his way out and mayor-elect Eric Adams remaining coy about whether he will keep it in place after taking office Jan. 1.
Children throughout NYC’s five boroughs already traumatized by the old emperor are likely hoping for change from the new one.
