New Special Counsel Inspires Little Confidence in Biden Accountability

'This guy is a swamp monster of the tier-one level...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) In order to investigate President Joe Biden’s illegal removal of classified documents during and after his vice presidency, Attorney General Merrick Garland has tagged attorney Robert Hur as the special counsel to oversee the probe, the Daily Wire reported.

“The special counsel will not be subject to the day-to-day supervision of any official of the department, but he must comply with the regulations, procedures and policies of the department,” Garland said Thursday in making the announcement.

Unfortunately, for those hoping to see Biden brought to justice, Hur’s deep-state ties are extensive, suggesting the outcome—whether to protect Biden or to force him from office—may already be baked into the mix.

Though he was appointed by former President Donald Trump to the top prosecutor’s role in the state of Maryland in 2017, Hur—like many Trump appointees—has aligned himself with several prominent figures from the very Swamp that Trump had hoped to drain during his presidency.

Hur, who clerked for the now-deceased Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist, previously functioned as the right-hand man for FBI Director Chris Wray, under whose leadership the FBI has morphed into a politicized weapon for the Left.

The duo primarily worked together under the George W. Bush administration, when Wray was assistant attorney general in charge of the DOJ’s Criminal Division and Hur was his special assistant.

The connection would prove deeper more than a decade later, when Hur took a job as the DOJ point man to Robert Mueller’s special counsel during the infamous Russia-collusion probe, one of the vital tools by which the Left continually undermined former President Donald Trump‘s term.

If that weren’t enough, Hur also has ties to former U.S. acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, functioning as Rosenstein’s top lieutenant while pushing Russia lies.

Rosenstein, who was the top DOJ official in charge of the Mueller investigation after the recusal of then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, was forced out by Trump after it came to light that he had offered to wear a wire during conversations with Trump while seditiously plotting with then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe about how to undermine the president.

The two are so close that Rosenstein even announced Hur’s initial DOJ appointment, praising him for his “experience and judgment [that] will advance our efforts to deter crime, promote the rule of law, and ensure equal justice for everyone.”

But not everyone who worked with Hur was as complimentary.

Kash Patel, a Trump ally who served as chief of staff to the secretary of Defense and also as a federal prosecutor, denounced Tur as a “government gangster” during an interview Thursday with Fox News’s Larry Kudlow.

“This guy is a Swamp monster of the tier-one level,” Patel said. “He’s a government gangster. He’s now in charge of the continued crime-scene cover-up.”
