(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Nancy Pelosi was mocked on social media after she wished Americans a “happy Schwanza,” thus butchering the pronunciation of the word “Kwanzaa,” a made-up black holiday, according to Just the News.
“I yield back the balance of my time and wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe New Year. Happy holidays, merry Christmas, happy Shwanza, happy Hanukkah. Whatever it is you celebrate, be safe,” Pelosi said on Friday after she urged her colleagues at the Swamp to vote for the $1.7 trillion spending bill, which was ultimately passed.
People on Twitter immediately responded to her inability to pronounce words due to her old age.
“She forgot Festivus,” one Twitter user wrote, referencing a made-up holiday from the popular sitcom “Seinfeld.”
Mark Levin, a conservative talk show host, tweeted about Pelosi’s recent gaffe, too.
“Truth be told, Pelosi’s an idiot with power,” he wrote.
Greg Price, a conservative strategist, also mocked Pelosi.
“Happy Shwanza to all and to all a good night,” he wrote and included a photo of Pelosi kneeling while wearing an African scarf that is linked to the empire that was involved in the West African slave trade.
Another person on Twitter made fun of Pelosi by writing a line to a poem similar to “The Night Before Christmas.”
“It was the Night before Shwanza and all through the howsh, not a creature wash shober, eshpecially Nanshee the soushe.”
Aside from the fact that Pelosi is not able to talk anymore, it is also important to point out that Kwanzaa is a holiday that was made up in 1966 by Ron Karenga — a Marxist who used to torture the female members of his group, the United Slaves, that was a rival to Black Panthers — The Federalist reported.
People who speak German would find the word even funnier because, in the language of Goethe, the word “schwanz” means “penis,” according to Interglot Dictionary.
Pelosi, who is 82 years old, will step down next month as House Speaker while Republicans will be sworn into the majority.
