Media’s New Gaslit Talking-Point: Only Right-Wingers Engage in Political Violence

'Let's get real: "Domestic terrorism" has become a polite euphemism for "right-wing extremism"...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) In the wake of a notorious left-wing psychotic’s attack on Paul Pelosi last week, the fake news has found a new way to gaslight audiences, making it seem as if only Republicans are responsible for “political violence.”

At least four separate leftist outlets—a CNN panel, ABC’s The View, The Atlantic and the New Republic all pushed the bogus narrative in recent days, echoing the Democratic Party operatives who delivered their marching orders.

Ex-Republican David Frum’s Oct. 29 article in The Atlantic, which seemed to spur this new talking point, went through the laundry list of purported political violence, including campaign advertisements and jokes about getting RINO hunting permits.

The article did list some occasions of actual violence against Republicans—such as the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the shooting at a GOP baseball game by a deranged Bernie Sanders supporter.

Despite having no evidence of real violence performed by Republicans against Democrats—and while ignoring regular calls from top Democrat officials to commit acts of violence against their opponents—Frum insisted that only Republicans embrace it.

“But if both Republicans and Democrats, left and right, suffer political violence, the same cannot be said of those who celebrate political violence,” said Frum, one of the architects of George W. Bush’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, who coined the phrase “Axis of Evil” to refer to America’s geopolitical foes.

“That’s not a ‘both sides’ affair in 2020s America,” Frum claimed.

The hosts of The View were of a similar mind while discussing the right’s alleged aptitude for violence after the attack on Paul Pelosi at his San Fransisco home, the Daily Caller reported.

“There is no both sides here,” co-host Joy Behar said.

“And a lot of them like to say it—including [Republican Texas Sen.] Ted Cruz when he was here,” she continued. “And I’d like to remind everybody that it was the Democrats—not the Democrats—who stormed the government that day [Jan. 6] and tried to kill the vice president [Mike Pence].”

Another leftist rag, the New Republic, published a piece accusing the GOP of domestic terrorism.

“Let’s get real: ‘Domestic terrorism’ has become a polite euphemism for ‘right-wing extremism,'” the article stated, citing an assessment from the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the National Counterterrorism Center.

The official, government assessment attributes so-called “right-wing extremism” to racism.

Republicans also have sounded alarm on this false equivalence, noting that the Biden administration’s leading agencies have tried to conflate terrorism with their opponents’ political views and have actively tried to push the phony narrative ahead of an election in which Democrats’ poor leadership is the top issue at hand.

Pelosi’s attacker, Dave DePape, has been discovered to be a left-wing, Black Lives Matter supporting nudist and gay rights activist. The media has yet to address this discovery.
