(John Ransom, Headline USA) In what has been a signature pattern in elite behavior, while Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., publicly denounced the communist regime in China, her husband’s law firm, Latham & Watkin (LW), has been collecting fees from the Middle Kingdom and other authoritarian regimes.
“All of LW’s work discussed in this article was legal and Perry didn’t work directly on these accounts. But as a partner at the firm, he benefits and profits from all its work,” said Just the News about the piece on Cheney’s husband, Philip Perry.
In an interview with Just the News, former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows said that it’s the type of hypocrisy that is too common in Washington.

“It’s the kind of say one thing, do another that Americans hate in Washington, D.C.,” Meadows said. “Liz Cheney will have a lot of explaining to do to the Wyoming voters.”
It won’t help that Cheney has been recently been censured by the Republican National Committee for sitting on the J6 committee, which GOP leaders said is just a partisan scheme to attack conservatives.
“Anybody who committed crimes on January 6 should be prosecuted,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., told CBS’s Face The Nation. “But the January 6 commission is not the place to do this. That’s what prosecutors are supposed to do. This commission is a partisan scam.”
LW has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and now-annexed Hong Kong that work for some of the largest corporate names in China, including those with ties to the Chinese military and state security services, like telecom giant Tencent.
“The CIA concluded Tencent received funding from the Chinese Ministry of State Security early on in its foundation when they were trying to build the so-called Great Firewall to censor the internet inside China,” reported Just the News.
While Cheney is raising record cash to fight-off a primary challenge by Wyoming Republican Harriet Hageman for it’s at-large House seat, the contest may be tough sledding, as Cheney is not popular among conservative activists.
“It now seems nearly a certainty that Cheney will raise and spend more for this race than any other federal contest in Wyoming political history,” said CNN.
“What’s far less certain is whether all of this money can save Cheney from paying the price for her willingness to vote to impeach Trump for his role on January 6, 2021.”
And her willingness to profit off of China.
