Livestreamers Exposing Fake News Narrative in Ottawa

'Truckers have rolled into town and showed us what being human is all about... '

(Gregg Pupecki, Headline USA) The Freedom Convoy is not only having an impact on eliminating COVID mandates but it is changing the way people can watch live breaking-news stories.

The once powerful and trusted legacy media outlets like ABC World News and Canada’s CBC have turned into dusty unreliable relics of the past. Their slanted news coverage and entitled journalists have made the companies as irrelevant to reporting the truth as brands like Sears, Roebuck are to the retail industry.

The majority of these legacy news outlets have not sent reporters to Ottawa for live coverage. They simply broadcast and parrot the approved state story line.

While the Legacy media is busy trying to create a narrative that the protesters are dangerous, racist insurrectionists and warning Canadians to stay away, a group of curious livestreamers started streaming.

The live raw footage in Ottawa that they are capturing is showing the world a completely different narrative. Their unscripted and unedited livestreams at protests are capturing children playing on pop-up slides, free food being cooked, homeless being fed, cotton candy being handed out, streets being swept, thousands of hugs being given and love being spread.

After covering the protest for days, YouTube streamer UOTTAWASCOTTY said, “Truckers have rolled into town and showed us what being human is all about.”

YouTube streamer MACHINES EVERYWHERE has over 39,000 subscribers and his latest stream received over 165,000 views. He originally started his channel to showcase heavy equipment like motor graders, tractors and wheeled loaders.

“The MSM is not covering the story properly,” he told Headline USA, referencing coverage the Freedom Convoy has received. “So, I decided to try and make some videos.

“It is so important to talk to people on the ground and get the real story,” he said. “I had a small Youtube channel before this that filmed heavy equipment for the most part. I feel like the footage I have captured needs to be remembered for our children to see.”

These streamers are proving in real time that fake news is a reality, and people are watching.

OTTAWALKS, one of the largest local streaming podcasts, recently celebrated receiving over 100,000 subscribers. His livestreams of the protests have been garnering over 19,000 viewers, while his video posts of the stream are receiving over 500,000 views.

Before the protests, OTTAWALKS was streaming live tours of the city showcasing attractions and culture. Now his channel has exploded and its focus is all about allowing the truth on the ground to be told.

The livestreams being broadcasts by over a dozen YouTubers all have a different approach to covering the event. Some provide more raw footage, while others interview people in the streets.

A new YouTuber called ZOT, a 20-year-old armed with a phone and a cell signal, sits down with truckers in their cabs interviewing them while taking the time to let them tell their stories. It’s a combination of a Joe Rogan podcast and Larry King interview — a journalistic technique legacy media once possessed.

ZOT was embedded Wednesday in a Canadian truckers cab until early morning, keeping watch on a rumored armed police roundup of all the truckers. The police action never took place; but if it did, thank livestreamers like ZOT for capturing history and being a check on totalitarian governmental actions.
