(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Lawyers for Ghislaine Maxwell have released a 77-page statement reporting that she has been placed on suicide watch prior to her sentencing next week, a twist that has raised questions of an understandably conspiratorial nature.

According to WMUR, Maxwell is being held at a jail in Brooklyn, New York.
Officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Maxwell and her team of lawyers refused to answer questions from the prison’s psychology staff, and she was removed from the general population.
Maxwell was convicted on multiple counts, including sex trafficking, in December.
As it stands, Maxwell is facing up to 65 years in prison. Prosecuters have recommended a sentence between 30 to 55 years; her lawyers have pleaded for further leniency.
Maxwell, who is known for being the infamous partner of Jeffrey Epstein, is also being protected in prison due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death, who ended up dead while in custody.
Epstein’s list of clients has remained sealed.
Some media outlets are calling Maxwell’s fear for her life a ploy to get out of serving her sentence, which, at age 60, is essentially a life term.
It has also been reported that a cellmate of Maxwell’s had been offered money to kill her and intended to strangle her in her sleep.
Maxwell was arrested in July of 2020, and her case has been in and out of the courts since then. Maxwell’s lawyer is attempting to appeal the sentence completely based on her work with the Clinton Global Initiative.
Maxwell’s final sentencing is this week. Epstein’s client list has remained sealed; it is unclear if it will be opened before the trial ends.
