(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A former Planned Parenthood director committed suicide while police were investigating him in a child pornography case.
On Apr. 11, Tim Yergeau, 35, was found dead in his New Haven, Conn., apartment, five days after police botched a raid that was supposed to target his apartment, but accidentally entered an apartment of an innocent person, according to the Daily Wire.
“The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide,” New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson said the day after police found Yergeau’s body.
The Daily Wire reported that the search warrant allowed police to look at Yergeau’s electronic devices. However, he was not arrested at the time of the police raid.
“It was an open investigation, so he knew he was going to be arrested,” Jacobson said.
At the time of his death, the child pornography suspect was working at the Long Wharf Theatre. However, he previously worked as a director of strategic communications for the PP of Southern New England.
“Excited to announce that today I start a new job on the marketing/communications team at Planned Parenthood of Southern New England,” Yergeau posted in December 2018.
“Excited to be working on issues I’m passionate about: healthcare access, reproductive and sexual health, diversity and inclusion, civic engagement and voting rights.”
In the past, Yergeau promoted various leftist and LGBTQ causes on his social media pages. As seen in one of Yergeau’s posts on Instagram, he showed a picture of the PP buttons with rainbows on them. In another Instagram post, Yergeau wears a shirt with the common pro-abortion talking point, “Bans Off Our Bodies,” printed on it.
According to the Daily Wire, when police arrived to serve a search warrant at Yergeau’s apartment, they accidentally broke down his neighbor’s door and handcuffed a woman before they realized their mistake.
The police department apologized for their mistake and stated that the investigation was launched into how the mistake happened.
