Michael Flynn Says Trump Could Deploy Military to ‘Rerun’ 2020 Election

'Martial law has been instituted 64 times...'

Former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn suggested on Thursday that President Donald Trump could deploy the military and implement martial law in order to “rerun” the 2020 election.

During an interview with Newsmax, Flynn was asked what Trump could do to change the results of the presidential election and prevent Democratic candidate Joe Biden from being inaugurated.

Flynn suggested that Trump could seize every voting machine across the country and deploy the military to the key battleground states where the vote is especially narrow.

“He could order, within the swing states if he wanted to, he could take military capabilities and basically rerun an election each in those states,” Flynn said.

Using the military is “not unprecedented,” Flynn said, noting that many critics talk about it as if “it’s something we’ve never done.”

“Martial law has been instituted 64 times,” he said.

However, Flynn noted that he is “not calling for that” right now.

“We have a constitutional process, and that has to be followed,” he said.

During a “Stop the Steal” rally last Saturday, Flynn voiced support for Trump’s continued efforts to challenge the 2020 election results.

“In this crucible moment of our time, we have to pray that truth triumphs over lies, justice triumphs over abuse and fraud, honesty triumphs over corruption,” Flynn said. “Our sacred honor triumphs over infamy.”

“Don’t get bent out of shape,” he added. “There are still avenues. … We’re fighting with faith, and we’re fighting with courage.”

Flynn also rejected arguments that the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear Texas’s lawsuit against Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin means that the election is over.

“The courts aren’t going to decide who the next president of the United States is going to be,” Flynn told the crowd. “We the people decide.”
