(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) Earlier this week, federal cops reportedly ushered a high-ranking U.S. Department of Homeland Security bureaucrat out of its Washington, D.C., headquarters after they conducted a raid on his office.
In a development first reported by the far-left Rolling Stone magazine, multiple media outlets identified the Biden administration official as Brian Sulc, executive director of the Transnational Organized Crime Mission Center.
Sulk “is under investigation for an alleged security violation, bringing a personal electronic device inside the secure office, where phones and electronic devices are prohibited,” Rolling Stone wrote.
DHS has placed Sulc—who has not yet been arrested or charged with any crimes—on administrative leave, pending an internal investigation.
Through a statement, the agency has confirmed that a probe is ongoing, Fox News reported.
DHS declined to comment further, apart from insisting that “DHS is committed to ensuring all operational security protocols are followed and is conducting an inquiry into a reported security incident,” and that “DHS conducts its national security mission with adherence to the highest standards.”
Despite its so-called high standards, however, DHS has allowed millions of unvetted illegal aliens to pour into the U.S. pursuant to the Biden regime’s open-borders, catch-and-release, deportation-averse agenda.
GOP lawmakers have consistently criticized robotic and often-deflecting DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his failure to secure the border—which has created a law enforcement, national-security and humanitarian crisis in that region.
The Federal Protective Service apparently raided Sulc’s office late Monday afternoon and searched the premises.
Authorities have since reportedly enclosed Sulc’s work station with crime-scene tape and sealed the door and keyhole.
“He is a big deal,” one source with direct knowledge of the search of Sulc’s office told Rolling Stone.
“He does the border, all the big issues and crises,” the source added. “This is why this is all so shocking.”
Investigators reportedly questioned him before he was sent home.
A DHS employee for about 15 years, Sulc “is in charge of the office that produces intelligence assessments on border security, the opioid epidemic and other high-stakes policy issues,” Rolling Stone also explained.
