(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, presented whistleblower testimony suggesting that the FBI has been fraudulently padding its “domestic extremism” statistics in order to help push the Left’s false narrative that “white supremacists and other far-right-wing extremists are the most significant domestic terrorism threat facing the United States.”
“[W]e have learned that FBI officials are pressuring agents to reclassify cases as ‘domestic violent extremism’ even if the cases do not meet the criteria for such a classification,” Jordan, the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee. “[Agents] are encouraged and incentivized to reclassify cases as DVE cases even though there is minimal, circumstantial evidence to support the reclassification.”
Jordan went on to tie the effort to the desperate attempts by the Biden administration — and especially by Wray, AG Merrick Garland and Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — to gaslight Americans into believing that homegrown right-wing terrorism is on the rise.
“According to you and other Biden Administration officials, investigations into DVEs have increased ‘significantly,” Jordan wrote. “New whistleblower disclosures made by multiple FBI employees from different field offices indicate that the Biden Administration’s narrative may be misleading.”
Jordan demanded that Wray provide all executive branch documentation “referring or relating to classifying or reclassifying domestic violent extremism cases” between Jan 2020 and the present.
According to Breitbart News, after he sent the letter, Jordan learned from a whistleblower that one of the senior FBI officials pressuring agents to reclassify their cases is none other than Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault who Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has accused of quashing any investigation of Hunter Biden.
“I think the real takeaway for all of us is, just further confirming that the Justice Department is so darn political, which is frightening,” Jordan told Breitbart.
