FBI Fearmongering Drives Mass-Mobilization of Military, but Nothing Materializes

'The FBI bulletins were short on facts on heavy on nonsense. Far from real intelligence, they gave off the stench of a weaponized political narrative...'

After failing to prevent—or, perhaps, helping to foment—the Jan. 6 US Capitol insurrection, the FBI and other intelligence resources over-corrected by dispatching tens of thousands of National Guardsmen to safeguard recent events leading up to Wednesday’s inauguration, according to an analysis.

Intelligence sources reacted swiftly and resolutely to what was believed to be a well-coordinated, mass march on state capitols scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 17.

FBI director Christopher Wray took the rare step of briefing Vice President Mike Pence about the potential uprising and leaking a series of “bulletins” to the media.

“Sunday was supposed to be the day we would witness hordes of pro-Trump groups storming state capitols, wrote The Dossier blogger Jordan Schachtel.

“Instead, state capitals were occupied by lots of media, National Guardsmen, a bolstered law enforcement presence, but virtually zero pro-Trump protesters,” he continued. “…Not a single violent clash related to these protests was reported in the media all day long.”

Schachtel noted that the events planned for Sunday managed to draw some anti-Trump groups, including scattered members of the anti-government boogaloo movement and left-wing anarchist group Antifa.

But on the upside, the massive military presence largely succeeded in deterring what might otherwise have been scattered clashes.

Schachtel noted that even leftist media outlets in several states were obligated to acknowledge the false alarm.

However, he said it was not difficult to see through the empty show of force.

There was never any indication that pro-Trump groups would participate in these protests,” Schachtel said.

“The FBI bulletins were short on facts on heavy on nonsense,” he continued. “Far from real intelligence, they gave off the stench of a weaponized political narrative.”

Federal authorities also have mobilized in massive numbers for Wednesday’s inauguration of Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, even as conservatives, following the lead of President Donald Trump, are openly expressing their intention to boycott, rather than protest it.

In addition to the extreme cost—much of it footed by already insolvent blue states—the military presence has been an optical disaster for the incoming Biden Administration, which will struggle to assert its legitimacy amid widespread suspicion and, in many cases evidence, of massive vote fraud.

Along with other recent power-grabs by Democrats, including a dubious impeachment effort and Big Tech censorship campaign, the deployment has lent a decisively dystopian air to the proceedings, which were already expected to be sparsely attended due to the coronavirus.

“There are now tens of thousands of National Guardsmen patrolling state capitols (along with a robust presence of 25,000 alone in Washington, D.C.) for seemingly no reason whatsoever,” Schachtel said.

“Countless millions of dollars have been spent to mobilize these forces, gin up the panic to new levels, and upgrade security across America, and for few, if any, legitimate reasons,” he continued. “…As for Inauguration Day, there are no indications that we will have any issues with the peaceful transfer of power, and there were never any real established threats to this process. “
