Fauci Challenges Rand Paul, Dares Him to Launch Investigation

'My records are an open book... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief Medical Advisor to the President, dared Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., to open an investigation on him if Republicans take back the House and the Senate in the midterm elections.

In an appearance on CNN’s New Day, Fauci insisted to host John Berman that all he has done is help save millions of lives.

Paul, who may become the chairman of the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee if Republicans win control of the Senate in the midterms, is hoping to get Fauci under oath and into the hot seat.

“One way or another, if we are in the majority, we will subpoena his records and he will testify in the Senate under oath,” Paul said.

Fauci told Berman that he was not concerned.

“My records are an open book. They are talking about things that are really bizarre, John, like crimes against democracy by shutting down the government,” he said.

“All I have ever done — and go back and look at everything I’ve ever done — was to recommend common sense, good, CDC-recommended public health policies that have saved millions of lives. If you wanna investigate me for that, go ahead.”

Paul has battled with Fauci in hearings on a number of occasions, suggesting that the coronavirus originated in a Wuhan lab and challenging Fauci on his myriad flip-flops and dubious royalty payments. Paul has not responded to Fauci’s statements on CNN.

Fauci has increasingly fallen out of the public eye, but has gone on record recently saying that he still believes Americans should be wearing masks in “schools, places of work” and any place “that brings people together in a closed environment.”

He has also went on record stating that COVID restrictions should have been “much, much more stringent.”
