Coronavirus czar Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested this week that families should ask their members for proof of vaccination before allowing them to enter their homes this Christmas.
“When you get vaccinated, and you have a vaccinated group, and you are in an indoor setting, you can enjoy, as we have traditionally over the years, dinners and gatherings within the home with people who are vaccinated,” Fauci told the Washington Post.
“And that’s the reason why people should, if they invite people over their home, essentially ask and maybe require that people show evidence that they are vaccinated, or give their honest and good faith word that they have been vaccinated,” he continued.

Fauci defended this suggestion by claiming vaccinated adults are much less likely to be hospitalized by or die from COVID-19.
“There’s no doubt [the unvaccinated] have a much higher degree of infection, a much higher degree of hospitalization, and a much higher degree of death,” he said.
However, Fauci also admitted in a different interview this week that fully vaccinated adults might discover soon that they’re not actually fully vaccinated. The definition of “fully vaccinated” will eventually change to include booster shots, he told CNN on Wednesday.
It’s “a matter of when, not if,” he added.

Fauci said he doesn’t see the definition “changing tomorrow or next week,” but he believes it’s “going to be considered literally on a daily basis.”
