Fitness company Peloton banned the phrase “Let’s go Brandon” after users started including the slogan in their personal profiles.
Peloton said users are no longer allowed to use the hashtag, claiming the phrase violates its guidelines.
“Hateful, offensive, or obscene speech is strictly forbidden on the Peloton Service,” the company’s guidelines read, according to PJ Media.
“We actively moderate our channels and have removed Tags that span the political spectrum, while still allowing Members to express themselves using Tags like #WomenForTrump,” Peloton added.
Peloton also removed the hashtags “#StopTheSteal” and “#TrumpWon” from its platform earlier this year. “#AllLivesMatter” is also banned, though “#BlackLivesMatter” is allowed. “#DefundthePolice” is also permitted.
Several users blasted the company for cracking down on the phrase.
“They force every left-wing thing down your throat and we can’t have a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’?” one user named Shannon said.
Another user named Stephanie said: “For a company who claims to be so inclusive, they sure do alienate a big portion of its members. Attempting to silence our voices will not silence us. It will only grow our will to speak louder.”
“Let’s go Brandon” became a viral sensation after a reporter at a NASCAR race mistook the crowd’s “F*** Joe Biden” chant as “Let’s go Brandon.” Musicians, fans, and even politicians across the U.S. have used the euphemism to show their displeasure with the Biden administration.
