(Headline USA) Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., admitted this week that U.S. Capitol Police officers allowed Jan. 6 rioters to walk into the U.S. Capitol building, accusing them of being sympathetic toward former President Donald Trump’s election fraud claims.
“There were actual officers working with this, and we never got to the bottom of that, and we never got any answers about that,” Ocasio-Cortez said Wednesday.
“I have no idea what happened to the people on the inside, who were very clearly sympathetic with what was going on and opening the doors wide open for that.”
Remember how there was tons of footage and evidence of officers & others inside on 1/6 supporting insurrectionists, but then everyone decided it was too politically risky to investigate thoroughly so they brushed under the rug and now we still have no idea who or what is safe? https://t.co/eL8BZaANha

Jan. 6 skeptics have argued for months that the riot seemed to have been set up by federal authorities, in part because of the Capitol Police’s involvement. There are several videos showing Capitol police officers inviting rioters into the building and holding the doors wide open for them.
“I’m supposed to sit here and pretend like none of that ever happened,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “And then, right afterwards, you just have this idea that throwing money at that problem is going to make it go away without any accountability.”
Ocasio-Cortez insisted that she “is not safe.”
“And it’s not just about members of Congress not being safe – workers aren’t safe,” she continued.
Earlier in the day, Ocasio-Cortez was heckled on the Capitol building steps by a conservative instigator who called Ocasio-Cortez his “favorite big booty Latina.”
“It’s just a bummer to work in an institution that openly allowed this,” she said after the exchange and her threat to assault the citizen.
