Abrams’s Star Witness in ‘Voting Rights’ Case Exposed for Partisan Activism, Rhetoric

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams sent an expert witness to testify against Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, but his lawyers exposed her for being partisan and ignorant about the case’s details, Just the News reported.

Abrams’ Fair Fight Action Inc., which lobbies against election-integrity reforms, called Adrienne Jones to speak about the Raffensperger’s civil rights violations.

Fair Fight Action’s lawsuit against Raffensperger and other defendants seeks to eliminate Georgia‘s “exact match” law for voter identification and citizenship verificiation.

Fair Fight Action claimed in the lawsuit that the “exact match” requirement violates the Constitution and the Voting Rights Act because it “racially discriminate against Georgians of color,” among other reasons.

Raffensperger’s lawyer, Carey Miller, said Jones wrote a column in which she called on black women to “overthrow” former President Donald Trump. He said Jones spread the allegation that Republicans would put dissidents in “internment camps.”

Then Miller showed that Jones, a political science professor at Morehouse College in Atlanta, knew nothing about the case for which she was an “expert witness.”

Miller noted that Jones donated to a defendant, Sarah Tindall Ghazal, in the lawsuit.

“You actually contributed to Ms. Ghazal’s past campaign, right?,” Miller asked.

“I did,” she said.

“And you are aware that Ms. Ghazal is a defendant in this case?” Miller asked.

“No,” Jones responded.

Fair Fight Action’s lawyers tried to stop Miller’s questions, but District Court Judge Steve C. Jones, an Obama appointee, let the cross-examination proceed.

“I think Mr. Miller is trying to discredit this witness. … I think he is allowed to do it,” the judge said. “I’m assuming he’s offering this trying to show me that, hey, that this witness is biased.”
