(Chris Parker, Headline USA) The mainstream media’s mantra of Trump’s involvement in the Jan. 6 frenzy is finally fizzling as new evidence unfolds, potentially spoiling Democrats’ big reality TV premier.
Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill, concluded that Trump “is not to blame” after spending several months investigating the insurrection, reported Just the News.
While Davis is a Republican, there is evidence of his objectivity. Namely, Trump endorsed his opponent. He also voted to certify the 2020 election results and has been the victim of a politically-motivated crime before. He serves as a member of the House Administration Committee that oversees the Capitol.
He also wasn’t alone in his conclusion. The J6 Inquisition failed to find new facts linking Trump to the riot, even after thousands of interviews and dozens of media leaks. In fact, it’s on the record that Trump encouraged the crowd to remain peaceful.
However, the investigation did reveal other pressing truths about Trump’s accusers. Both Davis and the committee found appalling security lapses surrounding J6. For example, Trump requested the National Guard’s presence, but Democrat leadership turned down his request.
“I think that’s a direct failure of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats not addressing some of the security failures that happened that day,” Davis said.
In their desperation to find incriminating evidence, the committee also subpoenaed phone records without a legitimate cause to do so.
These new revelations could be challenging for fake news outlets that have been pushing the narrative of Trump’s involvement with the riot. The committee is holding a prime time television special tonight in which they present findings and shift blames.
Davis denounced their plans to include Hollywood script writing, citing concerns that it will be more propaganda than actual news reporting. He believes that it’s unlikely to assign blame where it belongs.
It seems unlikely that some of the most pressing concerns about the committee itself will be addressed during the televised tribunal. Regardless, the revelations that have been released will likely prove troubling for Democrats who are already struggling to pull ahead before this year’s midterms.
