McDonald’s Real-World Ubiquity Will Soon Expand to Metaverse

'You are hanging out in the Metaverse and get hungry. You don't have to put down your headset... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USANot to let a business opportunity go to waste, the McDonald’s mega-corporation has committed to expanding into Mark Zuckerberg’s Metaverse, the Citizen Free Press reported.

McDonalds apparently plans on creating virtual cafes, restaurants, and symbols.

Josh Gerben, a McDonald’s official, shared the news in a tweet.

“McDonald’s is headed to the Metaverse,” he proudly wrote.

“The company has filed 10 (ten!) trademark applications,” he continued.

The trademarks filed earlier this week by the slop-serving global corporation indicate that the giant plans to partner with Facebook to create “a virtual restaurant featuring actual and virtual goods” and “operating a virtual restaurant featuring home delivery.”

Gerben later explained some details of the new proposals.

According to Gerben, Metaverse users don’t even have to put down their headsets or face masks in order to order and shovel McDonald’s grease into their bodies!

“Think about it this way,” he wrote. “You are hanging out in the Metaverse and get hungry. You don’t have to put down your headset. You walk into a McDonald’s and place an order. It arrives at your door a little while later.”

McDonald’s isn’t the first corporation to buy up space in the Metaverse.

Earlier this month, Panera Bread did the same thing.

“Panera is always working to be at the forefront of tech advancement — as a brand we are consistently looking for new ways to better our guest experience, whether in our cafes or in the metaverse,” George Hanson, Panera’s chief digital officer, said.
