(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Journalist Matt Taibbi has gained increasing fame in recent years for his YouTube videos that challenge the standing elite narrative. Unwilling to banish him altogether, the woke video streaming platform has decided that he can no longer make money from his account.
The recent video that caught the establishment’s eye was a five-minute clip containing footage of various Democrats claiming that the 2016 election was indeed stolen–something that millions of Americans believe about 2020, but are not allowed to say.
Taibbi released a statement to his subscribers describing his banishment, Hot Air reported.
“Today we’re releasing a video Matt Orfalea has been working on, showing years of audio and video clips, tweets, and headlines in which Democratic Party politicians and media figures describe Donald Trump’s presidency as illegitimate,” he wrote. “Before it was even published on this site, Matt received the above notice.”
Taibbi actually thanked YouTube for proving the point that the video set out to make: that free speech only seems to work in one direction.
“I’d like to thank YouTube for making our point. The material in this video does not promote the idea that any election was stolen or illegitimate. On the contrary, it shows a great mass of comments from Democratic partisans and pundits who themselves make that claim, about the 2016 election.”
Taibbi concluded by noting the extreme content moderation on the part of YouTube, as well as other social media platforms.
“Now we know: you can deny election results on a platform like YouTube as much as you want, you can even promise disruption, but drawing attention to such behavior angers the algorithm. It’s hard to imagine a better demonstration of the double-standard in content moderation.”
This instance is simply one more feather in the cap of the corporate media and its zealous censorship. This week alone has also seen the Libs of TikTok booted off of Twitter for posting images posted by radical leftists.
