Woke Army General Busted for Snarking Conservatives

'[Donahoe’s] use of sarcasm and ‘snarky’ tweets to private citizens was in poor taste, clearly displayed poor judgment, and ran counter to Army values... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) The Army’s Office of the Inspector General found that Major General Patrick Donahoe violated social media protocol when he confronted Fox News host Tucker Carlson and others about their opposition to forced vaccinations and women in combat roles.

The military watchdog said Donahoe brought “negative publicity” to the Army when he disputed Carlson’s assertion that new hairstyles to accommodate women and flight suits for pregnant women had made a “mockery of the US military,” the New York Post reported.

“While China’s military becomes more masculine as it has assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become as, Joe Biden says, more feminine — whatever feminine means anymore,” Carlson said in March 2021.

Donahoe launched the dispute when he posted a video on Twitter in which he re-enlisted a female staff sergeant, with the comment: “Just a reminder that @TuckerCarlson couldn’t be more wrong.”

Carlson brought up Donahoe again in July because he continued to pick fights on Twitter.

“He doesn’t seem as interested in keeping the country safe as he does in promoting a very specific political point of view,” Carlson said. “He spends most of his time apparently online harassing political opponents of the Biden administration.”

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and other conservatives jumped at the opportunity to criticize the woke military for its decision to put political correctness, diversity and inclusion above cohesion, preparedness and lethality.

“This spectacle risks politicizing the military after several centuries of efforts to keep military officials out of domestic affairs,” Cruz said in a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Donahoe told the Army’s Inspector General that he did not want to engage in “partisan activity” but “to defend” female soldiers against criticism.

Then Donahoe got into a Twitter battle with veteran Josiah Lippincott, a doctoral student at Hillsdale College, who criticized him for supporting the COVID-19 shot mandate.

Rather than defending his position, Donahoe tweeted at Hillsdale College, telling them to “come get your boy.”

After review, the Army watchdog called the tweet “unwise” because it “had the potential to bring discredit on the Army.”

“[Donahoe’s] use of sarcasm and ‘snarky’ tweets to private citizens was in poor taste, clearly displayed poor judgment, and ran counter to Army values,” the report said.

Donahoe had planned to retire from the military this year.
