(Headline USA) Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., claimed that pro-life pregnancy resource centers, which provide free baby formula, clothing and ultrasounds, among other things, “torture” pregnant women.
“In Massachusetts right now, those crisis pregnancy centers that are there to fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help outnumber true abortion clinics by 3 to 1,” Warren said on Tuesday.
“We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts, and we need to shut them down all around the country. You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that,” she said.
As the Family Research Council noted, pregnancy resource centers across the country “serve almost 2 million people a year and provide nearly $270 million in services at virtually no charge.”
Warren’s comments come amidst an alarming spike in arson and vandalism against pregnancy centers. Over the last two months, there have been at least 92 acts of violence against these centers, churches and other pro-life ministries.
Conservatives blasted Warren for inciting additional violence.
