(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) A private “liberal arts” college in Salt Lake City, Utah, is offering a class in which students watch and discuss hardcore pornography, according to Campus Reform.
An archived version of the Westminster College Film Studies courses website advertises FILM-200O: Porn, a two-credit course in which students “will watch pornographic films together and discuss the sexualization of race, class, and gender and as an experimental, radical art form.”
“Hard core pornography is as American as apple pie and more popular than Sunday night football,” the course description reads. “Our approach to this billion-dollar industry is as both a cultural phenomenon that reflects and reinforces sexual inequalities (but holds the potential to challenge sexual and gender norms) and as an art form that requires serious contemplation.”
The current published course list does not contain the controversial course.
While some have suggested that the publication of the course was a prank, political commentator Candace Owens has said that it’s not a joke.
I thought this was a joke—it isn’t. This is a pornography class that you can enroll in at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. The class description reads that porn is as American as apple pie and students will watch pornographic films together and discuss sex as an art form. pic.twitter.com/ZxcWP8J2jB

Campus Reform sought comment from Westminster College, but received no response.
According to Wikipedia, Westminster College was founded in 1875 under the auspices of the First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City, but officially cut ties with the Presbyterian church in 1974.
The school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion suggests that “there is no better place to learn and grow than at one of Utah’s most diverse institutions.”
“Westminster strives to create an inclusive environment where every student is challenged to think critically, is free to explore ideas, and is given the space to create a meaningful experience during college and beyond,” the DEI office continued.
