(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Ukrainian government, in a joint effort with European allies, is intensifying its lobbying campaign, seeking increased military support from the U.S. amid a backdrop of corruption scandals permeating the highest levels of the administration.
According to a Tuesday report by Politico, a delegation of Ukrainian officials, troops, and advisors journeyed to Washington D.C. last week to implore the U.S. Marine Corps for guidance on ship-to-shore operations.
They also expressed a need for advanced air defense systems against Russia and a long-range, single-warhead Army Tactical Missile System, marking what Politico dubbed “Kyiv’s latest wish list.”
I’ve sat in a lot of briefings where I was promised Ukraine doesn’t have a corruption problem.
The Biden admin has lied to us. Not one more penny to Ukraine. https://t.co/JH48L1xZz2

This news comes on the heels of a candid interview with a senior Ukrainian presidential advisor, who, speaking to Time Magazine, disclosed the alarming extent of corruption within the government.
“People are stealing like there’s no tomorrow,” the advisor said, while another criticized President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his alleged sluggish response to the corruption.

In a bid to persuade the U.S. to support its efforts, Roman Tychkivskyy, a defense ministry official, drew comparisons between the Russian military and the Hamas terror group.
“It’s not just war, it’s genocide,” he claimed, highlighting the apparent urgent need for funding. “We definitely know Russia will not stop on Ukraine. If it will be the case for Ukraine to fall, they will continue.”
Adding to Ukraine’s dismay, House Republicans approved on Tuesday a spending package for Israel, while leaving out any aid for Ukraine.
Newly appointed House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., justified the decision by citing the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, which claimed the lives of at least 1,400 individuals, including U.S. citizens.
