Take countless videos of Democrats dancing more cheesily than Elaine Benes doing the tango with Carlton Banks.
Add a catchy rap song, inspired by anti-Biden chants, that is currently topping the charts.
What results is a recipe for hilarity, with a sharp pinch of satire, that seems almost inevitable in the era of viral social-media memes.
Turning Point USA‘s Benny Johnson on Thursday tweeted out a mashup that can only be described—to borrow from the vernacular of his former employer, Buzzfeed—as an epic burn.
It comes amid a bizarre trend of Democrats attempting—horribly—to appear more relatable and in touch with the public through their spontaneous gyrations.
Current Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe offers a particularly egregious example.
However, he is closely rivaled by the likes of his former boss, Hillary Clinton, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer of New York, talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres and late-night “comedian” Stephen Colbert.
Even former President Barack Obama is featured in a clip, in which he reluctantly steps up from his seat, looks around to be sure people are watching, then breaks out into a boogie.
As with their political rhetoric, the leftists’ rhythm seems to be entirely devoid of self-awareness.
The two-minute, 26-second clip is set to the song “Let’s Go Brandon” by Loza Alexander, which currently occupies at least three spots (including remixes) on the iTunes top-10 download charts. (A different “Lets Go Brandon” song, by Bryson Gray, currently occupies the top spot.)
Alexander’s lyrics further underscore the tone-deaf attitude from the Biden administration and others on the Left, who have ignored plummeting polls and growing public outrage as they pursue a socialist agenda:
These times, people wakin’ up to e’erything
Go Brandon, but we all know what the sayin’ mean.
The jeer became an ironic stand-in when mainstream media blatantly ignored a more obscene anti-Biden chant after a NASCAR race, insisting that the crowd was instead cheering in support of race-winner Brandon Brown.
A Biden administration official this week insisted he was not aware of the new chant.
“I had never heard of that chant until you explained it to me,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates claimed in a Washington Post interview. “I guess I’m not spending enough time on 8chan or whatever.”
Democrats are not the only ones who have used choreography on the campaign trail.
During the 2020 election, the “Trump Pump,” often became a post-rally mainstay.
Its frequent accompaniment—the Village People’s “YMCA”—also offered a layer of levity and ironic contrast with the then-president’s persona.
But unlike with the Democrats, Trump’s self-effacing disco groove was intentional.
