‘Trump Won’ Sign Arsonist Identified After Tim Pool, Benny Johnson Offered Reward

'We need to stand up against hatred. No more political violence ... '

(Dmytro “Henry” AleksandrovHeadline USA) A man who burned a “Trump won” sign in Raleigh, N.C., was identified and reported to police after the owner of the sign, John Kane, offered a reward for identifying him, with conservative commentators Tim Pool and Benny Johnson raising the price of the award.

“A gentleman from Lodi, California who does not want his name made public first identified the arsonist, Jim White, emailing @jlawrencenc at 1:52 am with Jim’s @Strava profile and GPS, timestamped maps of Jim’s rides that correspond with the time stamps on the videos,” Kane wrote.

“I sent him $1,000 as promised a few minutes ago and will be sharing his information with @Timcast and @bennyjohnson so that they can do the same. I am truly grateful to each of you for lending your audience and money to catching this arsonist,” he added.

James Lawrence, a lawyer who represents Kane, said that his client sent evidence “regarding the identity of the individual who twice set fire to his Trump sign to the Raleigh Police Department” on Sunday evening, the Post Millennial reported.

“My understanding is no arrest has been made as of yet. My client will be pressing charges and will be filing a civil lawsuit against the individual,” Lawrence added.

Kane shared Aug. 12, 2023, Nest surveillance video of a man on a bike stopping to kick the “Trump won” sign in his yard on Friday. On Aug. 15, 2023, a man on the bike returned to the scene of a crime to set the sign on fire at 4:19 a.m. because kicking it the first time didn’t work.

After Kane offered a $1,000 reward for providing information about the arsonist, both Pool and Johnson raised the price of the reward to $11,000 after two of them donated $5,000 each.

“I’ll add $5,000 to the reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of this arsonist,” Pool said, with Johnson adding in a separate post that conservatives need to “stand up against hatred” and stop “political violence in [America].”
