Trump Could Invoke ‘Supremacy Clause’ to Pardon State Charges: Levin

'Should Donald Trump get elected, he should pardon himself from everything Biden-Garland-Smith are throwing at him during the course of this campaign...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Conservative commentator Mark Levin took to Twitter to voice his support for former President Donald Trump, urging him to “pardon himself from everything Biden-Garland-Smith are throwing at him during the course of this campaign.”

Levin emphasized that Trump should use the “supremacy clause to pardon himself from state and local prosecutors’ charges or any convictions launched against him during the course of this federal campaign.”

Levin added, “This is all new territory. But Trump is not required to accept what is being done to him by the Democrat Party.”

Trump is facing two federal indictments over his alleged role in thwarting the certification of the 2020 presidential election and the mishandling of alleged classified documents in his Mar-a-Lago estate. The leading presidential candidate is also facing a charge related to alleged hush payments to former pornographic stars.

Trump himself and several prominent Republican lawmakers, Levin included, have dismissed the charges as being politically motivated. Levin echoed those sentiments in a separate episode of his podcast, the Mark Levin Show.

During the August 3 episode of the podcast, Levin defended his stance on a self-pardon by Trump.

“It’s very difficult when you’re dealing with lawlessness and the enshrinement of lawlessness by courts as well as the participant in the justice system,” Levin said.

Levin acknowledged that his previous belief, concurring with those who argued a president couldn’t pardon himself regarding non-federal charges, had shifted under the present circumstances.

“I’m having second thoughts about this,” Levin argued. “I really am, under the circumstances. And they ought to be tested. Let them chase Trump. Let them chase the law for once. Why not? I really believe it.”

Despite the anticipated backlash from the “corrupt Democrat party media,” Levin remained resolute in his stance, declaring them the enemy and urging people to accept this fact. The issue of self-pardon is likely to continue as a point of heated debate and scrutiny as the political landscape evolves.
