President Donald Trump on Tuesday night signed an executive order that directs the Justice Department to classify Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, Townhall reported.
Antifa, with help from Black Lives Matter, has instigated much of the arson, riots, and vandalism that the nation has suffered this year.
Some speculated that the group may also have infiltrated pro-Trump protestors who allegedly stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday.
“Reliable reporting suggests that the movement known as Antifa is directly or indirectly responsible for some of the recent lawlessness in our communities, and has exploited tragedies to advance a radical, leftist, anarchist, and often violent agenda,” according to the order that Trump signed.
Trump’s executive order will give him greater freedom in pursuing and prosecuting persons and crimes affiliated with the terrorist group.
“The violence spurred on by Antifa — such as hurling projectiles and incendiary devices at police, burning vehicles, and violently confronting police in defiance of local curfews — is dangerous to human life and to the fabric of our Nation,” the order stated.
“These violent acts undermine the rights of peaceful protestors and destroy the lives, liberty, and property of the people of this Nation, especially those most vulnerable,” it said.
In addition to its suspected links to the Capitol siege, Antifa has been linked to acts of vandalism targeting the homes of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
They left a decapitated pig’s head on Pelosi’s driveway along with a message on her garage door.

The Antifa mob also went to the home of Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., who announced that he would dispute the Electoral College delegates from states that ran illegal and fraudulent elections.
As punishment for his stance, Antifa terrorists harassed Hawley’s wife and newborn daughter, who were home by themselves.
“Antifa activists have brutally attacked our law-abiding friends, neighbors, and business owners, and destroyed historic landmarks that our communities have cherished for decades,” the order said.
“President Trump will not allow Antifa, or any terrorist organization, to destroy our great country,” it said.
