(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A man entered a daycare center in Clarkson, N.Y., while it was closed and stole diapers and formula while leaving notes that indicated he pretends to be a baby girl.
According to ABC 13 WHAM, police took Daniel Seeler, 65, into custody on Feb. 18 shortly after he ran out the back door of Inspire! Learning and Childcare.
The center’s director reported that an employee found $120 and a hand-written note on Jan. 30, that asked if the daycare had adult-size diapers and if the staff would “play along.” Law enforcement was immediately contacted as soon as it was discovered that there was a break-in. The daycare center will install a surveillance camera, as reported by the center’s director. A similar note and $200 were found the following Monday.
The director also said that after she received an alert that the security system had been activated on Feb. 11, and arrived at the center, she found that someone had gone through the children’s diaper bins and left another note and money.
The director also added that the note included sizes for pants, shoes, bras and dresses. In the note, the man indicated that he liked to play as a baby girl and called himself “Baby Danielle.”
After receiving another alert the following Saturday morning, the director called 911 and saw surveillance video showing Seeler playing with diapers and piecing them together to make a bigger one. The surveillance also showed Seeler entering the bathroom, pulling his pants down, putting the diaper on and then putting his pants over it before running out of the building.
The director also said that she later found out that he drank half of a bottle of formula, used a bib and stole three diapers.
Police said that Seeler admitted his involvement, but tried to defend his actions by saying that he was working through addiction.
He was charged with burglary and petit larceny but was released on an appearance ticket after police decided he was not a danger to the facility’s children or staff.
Tony D’Agostino, the daycare’s owner, said that the center has made changes to increase security, including [additional] door locks.
Red Voice Media previously released a video in which Seeler pretends to be a baby girl, brags about his diapers and drinks baby formula from a bottle.
