SC Women’s B’Ball Team Disrespects Nat’l Anthem at Final Four

'When you’re a black person, you’re forced to see race... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) The woke University of South Carolina women’s basketball team made waves this weekend by refusing to take the court for the playing of the national anthem before a game, the Western Journal reported.

Playing against Louisville in the NCAA women’s Final Four, the Gamecocks, led by head coach Dawn Staley, stayed in the locker room in protest.

The team has staged a season-long anthem protest in the name of protesting racial injustice, which clearly is not on display in the sport of basketball.

The squad’s woke head coach has opined on race riots in the past, suggesting that Black Lives Matter riots are justified despite causing mass destruction and leading to dozens of deaths.

According to Staley, black people have no choice but to engage in so-called anti-racism.

“When you’re a black person, you’re forced to see race,” she said. “You’re forced to see the color of your skin by what’s done to you and said to you.”

She also noted at the time that the rioters just needed to be listened to, and that they were merely opening doors for future conversations.

“Where we are today, with the riots, I don’t think the people rioting really understand how to be heard or how to converse,” she said.

“Because whoever is on the other side of that conversation, they’re not talking, they are not listening and they are not doing,” Staley added. “So this is how people are lashing out.”

And though South Carolina won the game 72-59, fans were not happy with the team.

South Carolina advanced to play UConn in the championship game, defeating them by a score of 64-49.
