Russia Investigates Nike for Lack of ‘White Diversity’ in Ads

'It underscores the pathetic irony that an alleged foreign adversary seems to be taking bolder action against American woke poison than America’s own alleged opposition party, the GOP... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) A Russian citizen filed a formal complaint about Nike’s racial policies with the nation’s Investigative Committee, alleging that the company has discriminated against white and Russian models.

The Moscow man, Yevgeny Smirnov, said he noticed that Nike’s Russian-language website had few white or Russian models, despite the country’s majority-white population, Revolver News reported.

“Almost all models representing the brand are either dark-skinned or representatives of the Mongoloid race,” the Russian-language RuPosters reported, according to Google Translate. “Caucasoids, who make up the vast majority of Russian citizens, are practically not reflected.”

Smirnov first inquired with Nike about its principles for choosing models, but, when the company ignored his request, he turned to the Russian Investigate Committee.

Nike has not responded to questions from journalists, either.

The committee agreed to hear the complaint.

“If the UK finds signs of violation of equality of rights and freedoms in the activities of the manufacturer, a criminal case will be opened under Article 136 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” RuPosters reported.

The Russian-language Nike website displays many African, Asian, and Latino models but few white or Slavic models.

“The company’s policy is to impose Western values and stereotypes that are alien to European culture in general and Slavic culture in particular,” the state-owned newspaper RIA Novosti wrote.

Revolver News stated that Russia has 70,000 blacks in a population of 144,000 million people, yet a majority of the company’s models appear black.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has opposed America’s turn toward critical race theory and compared it to Russia’s Bolshevik Revolution, in which radicals changed “existing ways and customs, and not just political and economic ones, but the very notion of human morality and the foundations of a healthy society.”

“Whatever comes of this complaint, it underscores the pathetic irony that an alleged foreign adversary seems to be taking bolder action against American woke poison than America’s own alleged opposition party, the GOP,” Revolver News reported.
