Rep. Roy: Mayorkas Has Caused ‘Mobile Morgues’ and ‘Body Trailers’ on Southern Border

'This is because of your policies, which you know full-well encourage cartels, are encouraging people to come here, harming Texans and harming this country. You know it... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) On the heels of Congressional Republicans warning that myriad failures of Homeland Security boss Alejandro Mayorkas are costing American lives and undermining national security, the DHS chief struggled during a hearing Thursday under withering questions about the boiling border crisis and the havoc that the Biden administration’s open border policies have caused.

“You talk about the damage being done to the United States of America,” said Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas. “Mr. Secretary, do you know what this is?

“This is a mobile morgue, a body trailer needed by counties in south Texas overwhelmed by dead migrants,” Roy said, displaying horrific pictures of 27 dead bodies piled in a trailer.

In a montage of murder and mayhem from the southern border, Roy flashed photos of what he said were houses being attacked, ranchers being assaulted, dead bodies being discovered in the desert, a young girl who had been branded on the arm and the faces of “tens of thousands of Americans dying from fentanyl.”

“Faces, faces of Americans across this country dying because of fentanyl pouring into our country,” Roy quaked.

“This is because of your policies, which you know full-well encourage cartels, are encouraging people to come here, harming Texans and harming this country. You know it.”

A large percentage of the illegal immigrants that have been caught crossings the border are being released across the country, Mayorkas admitted.

“If they’re not detained, the vast majority go released around the country, correct?” asked Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas.

“No, um, quite a significant number are placed on alternatives to detention,” Mayorkas said, before conceding that they are shipping an untold number of illegals on alternatives to detention around the country.

Where they are is likely anyone’s guess. Mayorkas apparently can’t even keep track of terrorists who have entered the country illegally and might or might not be roaming the country.

“Have any of the 42 illegal migrants on the terrorist watch list or no-fly list encountered on our southern border been released into the United States?” asked Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio.

“I do not know the answer to your question,” Mayorkas said.

“The secretary of homeland security does not know the answer to the status of 42 individuals who came to our southern border illegally, are on the no-fly and the terrorist watch list,” Jordan said incredulously.

“You do not know whether they have been released or not into the country?” Jordan said.

“That’s amazing.”

That’s one word for it.
